When sharing new truth with our friends and family, the hard part is working with a new aspect of truth that is directly contrary to the understanding they were raised with or currently espouse. We call these testing truths. This lesson will explain how to work with people on testing truths.

Jesus did this:
Mark 12:13–17 ESV
And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and some of the Herodians, to trap him in his talk. And they came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone’s opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?” But, knowing their hypocrisy, he said to them, “Why put me to the test? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him.

Green Fruit
John 8:47 ESV
Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

Give Time
Allow it to ripen
Sermons and Talks, Volume 2 Chapter 6—The Need of Earnest, Intelligent Workers (Manuscript 14, 1887)

Soon the wagon halted, and the party began to scatter in every direction to find fruit. Just within their reach were bushes bearing large quantities of beautiful whortleberries; but they did not look close enough to see them. The ripe fruit was so mingled with the green that we could pick only one or two berries from a cluster. I commenced to gather the fruit very carefully for fear of picking the green berries, but my pail, which held two quarts, was quickly filled.
