What is a Standard?
something used as a measure, norm, or modelin comparative evaluations
(plural standards) principles of conduct informed bynotions of honour and decency
We don’t live by Baptist standards, Catholic standards, Pentecostal standards, Calvinist standards, or any other denominational or religious standards.
We have One Standard.
Here are some ACTIONS that reveal the Lord’s character.
I. The Purity of Christ. vs.12-13

He was always led of the Spirit of God. v.12
12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. (Psalm 37:23)
We need to be focused. (2 Kings 6:16)
We need to be filled. (Eph 5:18)
We need to be faithful. (John 4:23-24)
He was always liberated by the Spirit of God. v.13
13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
The walking pattern of the Saviour. (1 Peter 2:6)
The living pattern of the Scriptures. (Romans 15:4; 1 Cor 10:11)

Jesus preached a broad message. v.14
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
His reach. “preaching” (1 Cor 1:18; Titus 2:11-15)
His result. “the kingdom of God”
Jesus preached at narrow way. v.15
15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The preaching of repentance. (Luke 24:47)
The people of repentance. (Acts 20:21; 2 Timothy 2:25)
