God is Not Finished With Me!

Philippians 3:13–14 NKJV
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Prayer
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name!
Last Week
we talked about operating in purpose in your Second-Half!
Today, I want to share how God has started a great work in you in your Second Half
Philippians 1:6 NKJV
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
What’s different this time?
In our second half- we operate in Cod’s Confidence
In our second half- we operate in God’s Assurance
In our second half we operate in God’s Power
In our second half we operate with confidence! assurance and power in God’s salvation.
The bible tells us
God will complete His good work in us
Again, I operate in God’s Confidence and assurance or as the young people use to say SWAG!
Now we have purpose!
Now I’m going to know Jesus for myself
Now I have assurance that the Holy Spirit actually lives in my heart!
Jesus told the disciples
John 14:16–17 NLT
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
I got my Help in the second - half
John 14:26 The Message
26 The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.
I know who I am and Who I belong to
2 Corinthians 1:22 NLT
22 and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
I am ready to get back in the game
2 Corinthians 5:5 NLT
5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:14 NLT
14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
God you have started something now!
The work begun by God is a good work; What God is doing in your life revolutionizes your life
What God is doing in your life will radically change your life
Let God via the Holy Spirit be your coach
No matter what kind of life you were living - when God converts you you start to live a new life
you start to live a good life,
you start to live righteous life
you start to live a pure life
you start to live a holy life
you start to live a life of real love,
you start to live a life of real joy
you start to live a life of real peace
A life of faith, humility, and control

God Is Not Finished With Me

It’s A Good Work!

God Is Always Working On Me and For Me!

2 Corinthians 1:3–8 NLT
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. 6 Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. 7 We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. 8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it.

He’s showing me how to love more and more

Philippians 1:9 NLT
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.

This time I’m going to love more!

I’m not focusing on just good feelings! I know Feelings will come , but feelings are not the focus with true love.
This time - God is showing me how to focus on knowledge.
If you truly love someone, you want to know them. In fact, you want to know all you can about the person.
Jesus is not finished with me - he wants me to know him
See now when You and I love - We don’t get to the feelings until we know all the facts! We need to know - so that we can really please the one’s we say we’re in love with.

It’s time to move from Good To Excellent

A growing love is needed to know things that are excellent.
A growing love is needed to approve things that are excellent.
It is not enough just to know what is right and wrong. It is not enough just to do what is right.
Sometimes you have to make a choice is between what’s good and what’s excellent!
Sometimes you have to make a choice is between what’s acceptable to do and what’s the best thing to do
Only a growing love in Jesus Christ that will move and you to choose the excellent and the best
The more we love the Lord, the more we will choose the excellent and best for Him for The Kingdom Of God
The more we love each other, the more we will choose the excellent and best for each other.
The type of love we’re talking about will not want to do anything that would even come close to causing a person to stumble.
A growing love is sincere and pure.

The word sincere means to sift about through a sieve in order to make pure.

The Love that God wants us to demonstrate and operate in is means pure love, An uncontaminated love
A Love that is not polluted
A Love that is not tainted.
A Love that keeps our eyes focused upon Jesus.
Real Talk:
If we do not love Jesus, we will not look to Him for direction, wisdom, love!
If we love Him, we will keep our eyes fastened upon Him, desiring to hear from him, longing to see and be with Him.

God Is Not Finished With Me

The love we must grown in will keep us from causing others to sin
It will keep us from causing others to stumble
It will put us on guard - asking the question Am I causing this person to sin, or stumble!
A growing love focuses me on choosing my best actions for the sake of others!
I can control what comes out of my mouth to be an example for someone I love
I can control what I eat and drink - to be an example for someone I love
I can control how where I go and don’t go - to be an example for someone I love
I can control how I respond to situations - to be an example for someone I love
The list could go on and on with almost everything we do.
We must control everything we do, not slipping over into the questionable
Sometimes that means not even doing the acceptable and good, but doing what’s best! Doing what’s excellent !
I don’t want to be the reason a brother or sister sins.
I want to give to Jesus the best I can.
Man - it breaks my heart to think about how many times I - We have chosen to do less than the best for our Lord and Savior.
We have offered up to Him behavior, words, thoughts, deeds, works that were second best—and we knew it!
How His heart must have been hurt —especially when He went to the ultimate limit in loving and giving Himself for us.
Romans 12:1–2 NIV
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
1 Corinthians 10:24 NCV
24 Do not look out only for yourselves. Look out for the good of others also.
Philippians 1:10 NCV
10 that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ;

God Is Not Finished With Me

Philippians 1:11 NCV
11 that you will be filled with the good things produced in your life by Christ to bring glory and praise to God.

Bring Glory And Praise To God!

We must do whats right at all times!

Be Right and Do Right at All Times!

Righteousness is explained throughout Scripture in the word faith.
Faith is believing God and trusting the goodness of God to take our faith and count it as righteousness
Matthew 5:6 NKJV
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
God is showing us how to "hunger and thirst after righteousness" and when we do that God counts us righteous.
This is another example of how God is not finished with us!
He Gave us Jesus
Jesus Christ is perfect righteousness; He did nothing but good.
1 Corinthians 1:30 NIV84
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
This is what the Bible means when it talks about Jesus being "the righteousness of God."
Jesus is the picture,
Jesus is the expression,
Jesus is the pattern,
Jesus is the very image of righteousness—of being right and of doing right.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
God has started a new work in us
Philippians 1:6 NCV
6 God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.
2 Corinthians 1:22 NLT
22 and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
2 Corinthians 5:5 NCV
5 This is what God made us for, and he has given us the Spirit to be a guarantee for this new life.
God is not finished changing you and me! He is molding us and shaping us to be, to act,
to do,
to talk,
to walk,
to love,
to praise,
to worship,
to pray,
to give,
to care,
to grow and look just like Jesus!
God Bless You
