1) Their Punctual Praise
1) Their Punctual Praise
Notice how verse 1 starts out; “THEN”
Meaning directly after God’s accomplishment.
Quote: “They were to hold their peace, but NOW they were to break their silence” - Matthew Henry
The less they did then, the more they must do now.
This song stirred their hearts of praise before their feet stirred the dust of moving to the next phase of their journey.
WORSHIP is as much a part of your spiritual journey as is prayer or scripture reading.
One of your biggest mistakes when responding to God’s mercy and grace in your life is embracing DELAY or good intensions of praising God at a later time.
There was nothing to wait for to make them happy!
2) Their Praise of God’s Power
2) Their Praise of God’s Power
Let us remind ourselves of the power of their enemy.
(v9) There is no doubt that the self-confidence and boasting was heard and felt before and during their crossing of the red sea.
(v2) Their seemingly overpower presence was quickly destroyed when God displayed how He was their strength, song and salvation.
verses: 4-6,
They would move forward in work, wrestling with temptation, burdens to bear, dealing with their own weakness.
(v3) The Lord is a man of war!!!
They will never forget when Moses said, “God will fight for you!”
It is interesting to note that when you rage war against God, you also are up against all of His creation.
(v11) This is the purest praise one can express.
To worship God in spirit and in truth bears the testimony that there is none other like God.
3) Their Praise of God’s Protection
3) Their Praise of God’s Protection
(vv13, 19)
They resolve to spare no cost nor pains in erecting a tabernacle to his honour.
What is amazing about the miracle of the Red Sea is that this mighty work brought fear to all those who would potentially be an enemy of God’s people.
The defeat of the Egyptians would be more than half the defeat of all their other enemies!
This should mean a lot to a bunch of sheep!
(vv17-18) Not only would God make a way of escape, He would doubtless make a way to bring them in to Canaan.
He had a proper place for Himself to dwell.
God’s desire for His children to be where He dwells.
The church is a great place to be!!!!
(v18) They saw an end to Pharaoh’s reign, but they would never see the day when a period would be placed on Jehovah’s reign.
Quote: ”It is the unspeakable comfort of all God’s faithful subjects, not only that he does reign universally and with an incontestable sovereignty, but that he will reign eternally, and there shall be no end of his dominion.” - Matthew Henry
Conclusion
Conclusion
It is imperative for every believer to reflect back on God’s victories!
We should never delay on praising Him for the mighty works He has done on an undeserving people.
Maybe you lack a heart of praising God in the moments? Maybe you are forgetful of who actually wins your battles?
