We believe in the POWER of prayer! Why? Because we believe in the POWER of our God!
This evening we are going to walk around these grounds and pray for every classroom, every ministry space, the playground, the fire pit area, the buses, the parking lot, even the sign near the road. Why? Because we are believing for God to use this place… to use this facility to expand His kingdom in the heartland!
We know we are facing challenging times as a nation. We know there are significant struggles and issues playing out politically and socially. We know we could get hung up in the messiness of current events but that’s not why we are here.
Yes these struggles are real… but instead of focusing on all of these things tonight, I want us to focus on one word that pertains to who God is: POWER. Our God IS Power. And His POWER IS AT WORK WITHIN US.
We have all the materials. We have the strategies, the curriculum, the crafts, the snacks, the volunteers, the facility and so on. But if we truly want to make a difference in the lives of those who attend our ministries and services, we must rely on the power of God to help us get the job done!
I am dreaming of BIG things this year! I am dreaming of transformations and life changes! I am dreaming of students and adults giving their lives to the Lord and being discipled as they grow in their faith and trust in God. It’s a big dream and we serve a big God! And how many know tonight that God can do way more than we can dream?
Ephesians 3:20-21 reads, “20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Can is ABLE to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine! God is able to do things we could never dream of doing! And the key to how this can come to pass is given as well: it must be according to whose power that is at work within us? HIS POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US!
If we rely on our power alone, we will be able to go a distance… but only God’s power can help us go THE distance. His Holy Spirit is given to empower us as witnesses… to supernaturally boost our ministry.
From the classroom to the sound booth to the stage in this sanctuary, I want the power of God to be known and felt within this place. That means we have to allow for the power of God to be at work within us. We must seek more of His presence and power and be willing to submit to His leading and guiding.
And before moving on, I want us to fully understand how awesome God’s power truly is! Move back to Ephesians 1:19-21 and look what it says. “That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
If you look back at verse 18, Scripture describes the power of God as incomparable meaning NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO HIS POWER!
Do we desire to see God’s power at work within us? Do we desire to see God’s power at work within our ministries? Then this evening, I want us to walk and pray for every square inch of this facility and believe for God to anoint this place and to fill it with His power!
We are also going to pray for our volunteers and staff and ask God to fill them with His power. I truly believe God is going to more than we can imagine this year… and with that belief comes the understanding that we must be open to receiving and operating in His power.
This evening, as we walk these grounds, we will have prayer points on the TVs to help us pray for God’s power to move in mighty ways.
Pray for God to fill our volunteers and leaders with His power. Pray for our volunteers and leaders to be open to receiving His power.
Pray for His power to fill this place, the hallways, the classrooms, the sanctuary, the parking lot, the buses, etc.
Pray for students and adults to experience God’s power through our ministries and discipleship opportunities.
Pray for breakthrough. Pray for salivation, transformations, and for healing.
Pray for God’s power to protect our leaders and attenders from any sickness.
Pray for safety and protection over our bus ministry - our drivers, riders, and those we pick up.
