16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 †And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb 10:16–22).
I have a question.Who wouldn’t served a God like that? When we actually analyze what we have gain in coming to Christ we can shout about what he has given us, done for us allow us to experience! Hebrew 10 clearly lets us know we are sanctified by the sacrifice of Christ. What the law could not do Christ did. The continual offering of bulls for our sins was only temporary! Every year the priest had to offer sin offering for the people sins. Romans 8: 3-4
3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.. (Ro 8:3–4). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
Our sins past present and future are now covered by the shedding of Christ blood. A great preacher said: “You see the superiority of Christ’s sacrifice rests in this, that the priest offered continually, and after he had slaughtered one lamb, another was needed; after one scape-goat was driven into the wilderness, a scape-goat was needed-the next year, “but this man, when he had offered only one sacrifice for sins,” did what thousands of scape-goats never did, and what hundreds of thousands of lambs never could effect. He perfected our salvation, and worked out an entire atonement for the sins of all his chosen ones.”
We should notice the completeness of the Saviour’s work of atonement—he has done it: we shall gather that from the context: secondly, the glory which the Saviour has assumed; and thirdly, the triumph which he expects.
We are taught here in the first place, THE COMPLETENESS OF THE SAVIOUR’S WORK. He has done all that was necessary to be done, to make an atonement and an end of sin. He has done so much, that it will never be needful for him again to be crucified. The precious blood was enough, to wash away all sin; and he doesnt’t have to come down to do it again.
The nails in his hands and the spike in his feet will never have to be done again! His work is finished! As a matter of fact verse 12 said after he offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins he sat down on the right hand of God!
The fact that he is described here as sitting down lets me know his work is done! Christ would not sit down in heaven if he had more work to do. Sitting down is the posture of rest.
I said all that to say to let you know that we have Assured faith. Assurance is a sense of confidence, security or certainty, especially concerning our salvation.
Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine o what a fortaste of glory devine! 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (Jn 3:16).
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? (Ro 8:31–32).
That leads me to my first Point
We have Confidence
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, (Heb 10:19).
We have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood. What can make me whole again nothing but the blood of Jesus! If you possess nothing else posses the confidence. The message Bible says: So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body. What ever is on your heart you can take it to God. We need to show that confidence in our Christian walk. We need to show boldness! CHapter 4:16 says 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need( Heb 4:16). What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit Oh, what needless pain we bear All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer
We have to get Closer To God
Roberta Flack said the closer i get to you the more you make me feel 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb 10:22). We need to get closer to God. He is a rewarded of those who deligently seek him. I believe many of societies troubles is because we are no longer seek closeness with God. He has become secondary in our lives. We positioned him in our lives not as our all and all but as our Ill call you if if need you. He wants us to draw nearer. I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,   And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith,   And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,   To the cross where Thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,     To Thy precious, bleeding side. We have forgot those hymns that reminded us how we need to be nearer to God.
The only way we are going to get closer to God is to do as the Pauls said to the Roman Church. If you we on Bible Study on Tuesday you heard me say: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Ro 12:1–2). Let me give you the translation:
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
The problem lies with us. We act like we too good for God. Thats why Paul had to say in verse 3 of Romans 12 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.(Ro 12:3).
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. (2 Co 7:1).
Finally We have to Cling to the Lord
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. (Heb 10:23). He said the same thing earlier in Chapter 4 14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (Heb 4:14). Hold Fast. That me don’t let go! 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Co 1:9). Moses told the children of Israel it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations! (Dt 7:8–9).
I can testify GOD id Faithful. He keeps his promises. He gives me hope in my hopeless situations! He gives me the assurance that everything will be alright!
10  For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
11  And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor
and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12  For I will be merciful toward their iniquities,
and I will remember their sins no more.” (Heb 8:10–12). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
We just have to wait!
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
