2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

The God Of All Comfort

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God this a famous text that has knocked on my door as I was in the lobby of the doctor’s office waiting for my wife as she went to see her doctor. You never really know what word God is going to speak to you and through you with. I’m impressed with the Holy Spirit because there is always a word from the Lord.

The Lord brought this true story back to my remembrance.

I remember taking a vacation day and going to the beach in Mississippi. We had the new mini-van and the girls called it the princess van. we got snacks and food and sandwiches cold drinks and chips . My children were playing games and the younger ones were watching Airel the Mermaid on the built in dvd player. It’s so much noise in that minivan! On top of that my lovely wife is talking a mile a minute and expecting me to respond. I was very uncomfortable.

So we finally get to the beach, and my first words were to the older children down run off ok, let stay together, alright. And what’s the first thing they do, “run off”!I say to myself “I ain’t tripping” so we spread out they blankets sit the younger children down, and I go rent an umbrella. They say they are hungry so I start fixing sandwiches because the babies are too young to fix them by themselves. And here comes the seagulls. The seagulls are literally diving in at my babies, then the older children starts running after the seagulls. They almost run into people on the beach. I go an apologize to the people and it’s cool. This beach trip is working me way too hard to be having fun or feel relaxing or feel comfortable. It’s getting late in the evening and the sun is going down.We pack up everything and head for home. Somebody say I’ve got to use it. So I stop at the local Walmart they finish and we head home. It’s dark and I’m tired they are all sleep and I’m just half way home and I’m sleepy too. I said Lord help me get my family home safe.

I was miserable and finally I got home safely. I put the babies to bed full of beach sand. And one of my older children said thanks daddy that was the best day ever at the beach. I said you’re welcome now go to bed it’s late. I went and took a hot hot bath, and I said you did all of that for comfort and it wasn’t comfortable at all. And Jesus spoke to me right down in my spirit man and said “now you know how I felt when I made mankind comfortable while I sacrificed my life, son I was uncomfortable hanging on the cross at Calvary. and I said I understand Lord And the essence of the story is that Jesus Christ the Messiah became uncomfortable so that we could be comfortable therefore making Him, the

The Theos Pas Paraklesis

The God Of All Comfort.

The word from the Lord today is that He is the God of All Comfort. Whatever you’re going through, the Lord will see you through it. Somebody type in Amen

The text says

2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

There are a plethora of applications to the interpretation of this text. And The tint tone and timbre of the title of the text let’s us know that everything is going to be alright.

The God of All Comfort.

The transliteration of this text in the Greek vernacular is Theos Pas Parakleseos (Par-ra-kle-sis)it literally means The God Of All Comfort. Comfort or parakleoo It means to come alongside. and what that means in this text is that God!comes alongside of us in times of trouble. When trouble comes God speaks words of encouragement.

For example: Psalms 37 Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. And here’s another one Psalms 23 The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. And Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil because thou art with me.. how about I shall live and not die saith the Lord. Now if you’ve never been through any kind of hard time this sermon isn’t for you! But! if you’ve have to say out of your mouth Psalm 124 If it had not been for the Lord on my side I don’t know where I’d be.If you ever had to say Lord have mercy on me. this is for you today.

Tell your neighbor: This is for me today

Psalm 91: 2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress:My God; in him will I trust. and then in verse 10  There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:

I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. servants.
Proverbs 3: 25  Be not afraid of sudden fear,
Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26  For the LORD shall be thy confidence,
And shall keep thy foot from being taken.
And here’s the last one that made the cut, in
Psalm 120: 1  In my distress I cried unto the LORD, And he heard me.
The afore mentioned texts involved people who were in some sort of trouble or distress and needed to be comforted. And in 2021 I read the statistics about Covid-19 fatigue. People are starting to have mental health issues as a result of the isolation, the restrictions, the misinformation, the conflict between varying views of this awful pandemic. This Corona Virus Covid -19 has utterly destroyed our old way of life. with over 3,400,00 plus people dead so far…And with the Delta Variant who knows.
Listen the world has had other plagues before that have nearly wiped out civilization.
1.HIV/AIDS IN 2005-12, 36 MILLION died; started in Africa
2.The Flu Pandemic of 1968 Called the Hong Kong Flu, 1 MILLION died
3.The Asian Flu Pandemic 1956-1958, 2 MILLION died
4.Flu Pandemic 1918, 20-50 MILLIONS died only healthy people died
5. SIXTH CHOLERA Pandemic of 1910-1911 800,000 died in India.
6. Flu Pandemic of 1889-1890, with 1 MILLION dead it was called the Asiatic or Russian Flu considered to be the first true epidemic in the era of bacteriology.
7. Third Cholera Pandemic of 1852-1860 with 1 Million dead from India from contaminated water.
8.The Black Death in 1346-1353, with 75-200 MILLION dead from fleas on rats traveling on cargo ships around the world.
9. The Plague of JUSTINIAN in 541 -542 AD with 25 MILLION dead sometimes called the Bubonic Plague during the Byzantine Empire reaching the Eastern Mediterranean region, killing 5,000 people a day.
10. The Antonine Plague of 165 AD with 5 Million dead this was thought to be the first stages of what is now called smallpox and measles.
And mankind has survived, the human spirit has always found a way to come back from sure destruction, and the Good Lord has brought us through every Pandemic.
Question is “Is there Anybody willing to acknowledge that life as we knew it has changed”? Because if you don’t, you do not live in present reality.
Many of us are covid fatigued
I’m tired of wearing the mask. but I’m going to keep wearing it.
I’m tired of hearing about people who don’t want to wear the mask. and some of them won’t wear the mask.
I’m tired of hearing about children being in the hospitals because of the delta variant and because of ill-responsible parents.
I’m tired of these rising prices and less quality in the good and services industry. And just cause the government gave me a little piece of check, Now Bacon is $9.00 What!
I’m tired of some people not accepting the results of the election. President Biden Won!
I’m fatigued with opportunist as soon as they see something they jump on it and try to get the upper hand.
I’m tired of the media bias from either side how about just the truth without your commentary opinions
I’m tired the crazy cable channels with stupid shows and we following stupid stuff and our children watching this reality TV thinking that’s what’s up that’s lit.
I’m tired of all these robo calls telling me I need insurance car warranty expired and after 250,000 miles on the vet who cares.
I’m tired of people talking about climate change isn’t real Look at how hot it is now days and the frequent storms in the gulf and the wild fires and it;s got stupid people talking and we listening at them like they are experts and they have been to nobody college. America is dumber.
I’m tired of people talking about the scientist developed the vaccine too fast. Those people went to college for that and that’s all they do all day long.. GO GET THE SHOT!!!
I need God’s comfort from all of this chaos. The world has gone stone crazy and it’s not getting any better. But there is hope in the Lord. Somebody say “Thank you Jesus” Paraklesis The God of All Comfort. The texts says Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father of mercies and the God of all Comfort. Verse 3 is a power packed verse. This verse teaches us "The Homoousios Formula"
Everybody say Homoousion Formula
Let me see if I can explain this where you can get it. The word Ontology. Ontology is the nature and relations of being or the particular kind of existents. And For the God fearing believer we believer in the Godhead where we have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost right? Well it’s got some people who don’t believe that and then it becomes an apologetic defense. Paul said I’m set for the defense of the Gospel. This is where the Ontological Argument comes in and all of that is in verse 3. And Ontological Argument is an argument for the existence of God. And it’s based on the meaning of the term God.
And that means that God is Ontologically the Father and the Son is Ontologically God and God the Holy Ghost is Jesus Christs' Other Self, Concluding that The One God is the Father begetting the Son and the Holy Spirit is the agent of action that carries out the plans of the Trinity.
I’m so glad that I know The Lord in the pardon of my sins and that when I’m in trouble I can call on Jesus, And the Holy Ghost is going to come an see about me.
And what’s so sad in American society today is that some people can’t call on Him because they either don’t know Him or don’t believe in Him. Some people don’t have no weapon in their hand and no God on their side And that’s why during this covid fatigue period they are committing suicides murder lust sinister crimes of corruption at the highest levels and hateful action of malice and prejudices and the list goes on and on. Look at verse 3 in the c clause with the phrase The Father of mercies. The word mercy in the Greek is the Eleos meaning that God doesn’t give us what we deserve. Because everybody is guilty at some point or another but here’s the thing “if we can show compassion for others. If we can show that we have a loving heart,” then when our time of trouble comes then God will be Theos Pas Paraklesis The God of all comfort.
Listen to me there are many things in this world that offer us comfort. WE watch TV, cable TV , on demand shows , Intagrams tiktok, facebook, twitter tweets WE go to the movies go to the theater shows, concerts, football games, basketball games, and many other olympic games, For comfort some us read a good book, create music listen to music some of us make beats and make a rapp song. Some of us take vacation some have stay cations. Some of us go fishing golfing racing hiking camping hunting and Some of us buy cars and clothes to find comfort. Some of us have a real passion for cooking food and we find comfort in seeing others enjoy eating our cooked food. And There is nothing wrong with any of that 3x but let me be crystal clear it’s better to be comforted with the Paraklesis The God of All Comfort. Because When you’ve lost a love one it’s going to be God’s word that bring you through. And this too shall pass.
When your child has gone astray it’s going too be the word of God that brings you through. Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he’s old he shall not depart.
When the bills have fallen behind and there is no money to fix things the word of God will see you through because David said I’ve been young and now I’m old but never have I seen the righteous forsaken our their seed begging for bread.
Look at verse 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. After you go through your trials and tribulations then you’ll be able to teach and preach to somebody else who may be going through what you’ve already been through.
Don’t you sit quiet when you see somebody going through the same hell that you’ve been through. Tell them! Baby He may not come when you want him but He’s always on time.. Tell them! The lord will make a way somehow, I don’t know when I don’t know where and I don’t know how but I do know that He’ll never leave you nor forsake you.
I do know that God is a present help in the time of need. I know He is because One Friday.um um He went to Yes Lord.Calvary um um they stretch His wide and hung Him up high and Oh for me He died. Out on the Cross yes
But Early !!!! I wish I had a witness here Oh Lord he Got Up! Wit All Power in His Hands Yes Ain’t He Alright 3x
