MMwM Episode 21 - Local Man causes SENSATIONAL DIVISION

John 10:18–19 ESV

No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.

John 10:20–21 ESV

Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?” Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”

Reminder: Jesus OFFERS his life, it was not TAKEN - though those who seized him were certainly culpable for their INTENT

Once Again there is DIVISION - this errupts from PRE-CONCEIVED CONVICTIONS and INSTRUCTION and potentially points to UNBELIEF

Their EXPLANATION is to consign his teaching to a DEMON, but others were UNSURE because of the Works...

When JESUS is PREACHED there will always be DIVISION…

Luke 12:50–53 ESV

I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
