It's Time to Dream Again!

I See Stars!

This generation needs hope.

Talk about Bishop Mcool back in 2012.

Tell the story about the vision of the stars and the multitudes.

Genesis 15:1–5 ESV

1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” 2 But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.” 4 And behold, the word of the Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” 5 And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

God reassures Abram a 2nd time that he will make his descendants as numerous as the stars.

The second time is when Yaweh tested Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice Isaac in Genesis in Genesis 22:17.

Then God continues his covenant with Abraham through Isaac because of his obedience. Yaweh promises Isaac that the promise he gave to Abraham will still come to pass. Genesis 26:4.

Dreams

God will speak to His people through dreams in order to reveal His plans and purposes for our lives.

God still speaks to us through dreams. See Acts 2:17.

What is the primary difference between dreams and visions?

Dreams occur when you are sleeping.

Visions occur when you are awake.

Daniel had night visions. See Daniel 7:13

Peter had a vision. Along with many others, but lets talk about dreams.

There are 21 dreams recorded in the bible.

10 of those dreams are located in the book of Genesis.

Dreamers Are Kingdom Leaders

God birth’s callings and anointings through dreams to his chosen people.

Tell the dream about the man who said that I would become one of the greatest preachers.

God wanted Abraham to dream big!

Dreams from God indicate that one has a strong anointing and generational blessings.

God is the God of generations.

Yaweh said, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

The kingdom was built upon a dream.

The Gate of Heaven

Genesis 28:11-17 (ESV)

11 And he came to a certain place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep.

12 And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!

13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring.

14 Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”

17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”

And he made him a robe of many colors. 4 But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him. 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they hated him even more. 6 He said to them, “Hear this dream that I have dreamed: 7 Behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright. And behold, your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 His brothers said to him, “Are you indeed to reign over us? Or are you indeed to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

The Sun, Moon and Stars

Genesis 37:8–11 ESV

8 His brothers said to him, “Are you indeed to reign over us? Or are you indeed to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. 9 Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, “Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” 10 But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves to the ground before you?” 11 And his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the saying in mind.

The Sheaf - represents Joseph’s earthly brothers. (FLESH)

In ancient times “Stars” were believed to be heavenly beings.

The Sun, Moon and Stars represent the 11 tribes of Israel and the elohim bowing to Christ. (SPIRIT)

Philippians 2:10–11 ESV

10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

7 “For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Proverbs 29:18 ESV

18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.

Numbers 12:6 ESV

6 And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.

Psalm 8:3 ESV

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

Joel 2:25–30 (ESV)

25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.

26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.

God restored things for His people spiritually speaking in Acts Chapter 2.

God wants to restore you tonight.

Acts 2 partially fulfilled the prophecy of Joel 2.

God first and foremost gave us His Holy Spirit to save us and make us like Him.

He gave us Spirit so we can commune with Him.

He baptizes us with His Spirit so we can speak with tongues.

But there was more to Acts 2 than, speaking in tongues, being filled with the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus name.

God also gave His people spiritual gifts on that day.

The gifts of dreams, visions and prophecy were released upon the church.

Conclusion: I See Stars!

Hebrews 11:12 ESV

12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.
