Intro: Song Great Is Thy Faithfulness
One of the attributes of God is His faithfulness. When I say God is Faithful I means He is totally trustworthy, Steadfast, Firmness, Fidelity. God is not wishy washy.
Psalms 119:89-90 says Your eternal word, O Lord, stands firm in heaven. Your Faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth You created.
That means if God The Father spoke something a thousand years ago, It still stands.
God The Father is Faithful to His word, because His word is an expression of His character. The promises He made still hold true because He dose not change. Malachi 3:6 says I am The Lord and I don’t change.
The prophet Isaiah wrote
Oh Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago Isaiah 25:1
The prophet Jeremiah wrote
The Lord‘s loving kindness in deed never cease, for his compassions never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22, 23
The apostle Paul wrote
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one second Thessalonians 3:3.
God is Faithful in many ways and today I want to talk to you about
God being faithful to His word
God being Faithful to His promises
God being Faithful to provide
God being Faithful to protect
God being Faithful to forgive.
I want to encourage you today that God is Faithful and if He said it we believe it.
The Father Speaking To Me When I Was 8 Years Old
When I was 8 years old God spoke to me
He told me when I turn 40 my life would begin. On my 40th birthday I had just started a new job. I was sitting in my first meeting and The Father brought back to my remembrance what He had told me when I was 8. I started crying right there in the middle of this meeting. It caught everyone off guard. Finally Pastor Bruce said brother are you ok? I began to explain what was happening I told him what God had spoke to me when I was 8 and that today is my 40th birthday and I am working for God I didn’t know what to do but cry.
Now as I was thinking about this The Father quicken my spirit about the Apostle Paul being shipwreck in Acts 27 but you have to go to Acts 23 where Jesus spoke to the Apostle Paul and told him and said, Be encouraged, Paul Just as you have been my witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.
You see the Pharisees and the Sadducees were planning to kill Paul. But not so! Jesus needed Paul to go to Rome and preach the Good News.
Paul is going to Rome to meet with Caesar
Paul was put in prison
Paul began to sail to Rome
A HUGE storm came up
They ALL were very concerned
They started throwing things overboard to lighten the load
They tried to escape by lowering the ROW boats on the side of the ship
Paul told them don’t go stay on board or you will surely die
The prisoner Paul, encouraged the crew to eat for some had not eaten in days
And then Paul tells them to take courage!.
I probably know what they were thinking.
How can we take courage this storm is going to kill us. We haven’t eaten or slept trying to survive. We have done everything we know to do and it’s not working.
But Paul tells them take courage because he knows something they don’t know.
22 “But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down.
23 For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,
24and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’
25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.”
‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:22-25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
You see God is faithful to His word!! It doesn’t matter what’s going on around you. What storm you may be facing.
It doesn’t matter what the people are saying around you, when God gives you a word or a promise you stand on it because IT SHALL COME TO PASS.
It happened just like God said it would. Yeah they loss the ship and it’s cargo but they didn’t lose their lives.
The people around you may be panicking but not you because you got a word from The Lord
If you got a word from The Lord jump on your feet right now and give God some praise.
Began to thank Him for His faithfulness
The angel of The Lord appeared to Paul with a message from God
There may be some storms there may be some shipwrecks but this chapter shows to what great let’s go I will go to remain faithful to his promises.
Looking back in the 40 days of divine preparation we were looking back on prophetic words that God gave Pastor Richard Pastor Joan and to Liberty. Even though there was a storm and a shipwreck
A few months earlier The Father told me in a dream to quit my job because it is affecting my ministry.
When I was young our kitchen caught on fire
Our phone was off so my mom went next door to call the fire department The Lord spoke to my mother and said your children When my mother returned back to the house the fire was completely out
I remember one week we didn’t have any food.
All we had was some frozen bread dough my grandma Mildred gave my mother 5 months earlier. God provided! Chinese restaurant in Mountain View
I remember being really sick when my homeboy was murdered.
I was sick for 16 yearsI’ve now been healed for 17 years
I remember when the doctor told me my son could have been dead.
That was 16 years agoHe’s getting married and graduating from college this year.
I say ALL of this to say God Is Faithful
When I look back on my life and see where God The Father has brought me from ALL I can do is begin to thank Him for His Faithfulness.
Today I want to talk about The Faithfulness Of God.
The Hebrew root from which the words translates “faithful and faithfulness in the Old Testament means to prop, stay, or support.
When applied to a person, it means someone a person can safely lean upon.
The Greek word used in the New Testament means trustworthy or to be relied upon.
Faithfulness implies stability, steadiness, certainty, and permanence.
Faithfulness exudes from a place that is firmly established with endurance.
Faithfulness is unchanging.
Faithfulness never wavers.
Faithfulness is a foundation that can be safely built upon with no concern for changes in the future. Faithfulness is a sure deal.
First Corinthians 1:9 says God is faithful….
God is one who can safely be leaned upon. He is the one who is steadfast in both affection and allegiance.
He is firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty.
When he says that He will do something, there is no doubt involved. There is no obstacle that can hinder Him from doing what He said He will do.
Once God has spoken, it is impossible for those words to return without completing the task they were sent to do.
Isaiah 55:11 says (CSB)
“so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.””
‭‭
Deuteronomy 7:9 says (CSB)
“Know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps his gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commands.”
Psalm 89:1 gives instruction to us as followers of God. It’s says
CSB
“I will sing about the Lord’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth.”
‭‭
As I was seeking God about what to speak on this story came to me.
God’s perfect loyalty and consistency is being true to His name, His character and His word.
God‘s faithfulness is an intricate part of his nature.
Numbers 23:19 says
God he’s not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Lamentations 3:22 and 23 says
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS NAME AND CHARACTER
Timothy 2:13 says If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.
GOD IS TO FAITHFUL TO FORGIVE
This is some of the best news in scripture that God is faithful and just to forgive our sins.
1 John 1:9
In Psalm 71 the psalmist recounts a lifetime of God’s faithfulness.
From the time he was young until old age, God has helped him, saved him, given him hope, and being his strength and protection.
He was so moved in thinking about God‘s faithfulness that he wanted to get on his harp and praise God.
Some of us in this room or online may not be musically inclined, but we can take time today to lift praise God for how faithful he has been to us, how faithful he currently, and how faithful he will continue to be.
———
However, sometimes, it does not feel like God is being faithful.
Sometimes it’s seems like we’re waiting forever for Him to answer our prayers, while others are enjoying answers to their prayers.
Sometimes we doubt God‘s faithfulness when life kicks us in the gut.
Sometimes we can wonder about God‘s faithfulness when we have to deal with sickness, and disease, Covid, The pregnancy test is once again negative, or having to say goodbye to someone we dearly love.
Almost 2 years now my grandmother died.
She was the matriarch of our family. It was a tough thing to go throughIt’s still though because she’s missed.

The prisoner Paul encouraged the crew to eat some had not eaten in days
Paul gathers the crew together and tells them I told you so. If you would have listen to me we wouldn’t be in this situation. I told you we should not have left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss.
And then Paul tells them to take courage.
I probably know what they were thinking.
How can we take courageThis storm is going to kill usWe haven’t eaten or slept trying to surviveWe have done everything we know to do and it’s not working.
But Paul says take courage because he knows something they don’t know.
