The Golden Rule?

12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

In short, it means to love others:

The Bible Exposition Commentary Chapter Six: The King’s Principles: True Judgment (Matthew 7)

The person who practices the Golden Rule refuses to say or do anything that would harm himself or others

Most of the time we instantly will think of this in a negative way when we are wronged or hurt by others.
It is much easier to repay evil with evil, isn’t it?
This commandment leads us to follow it in a positive way.
It is much harder to show grace to someone when they are wronging us. This is the narrow gate we are told to travel.
We also need to think of this in the terms of Iron sharpens Iron.
17 As iron sharpens iron,So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
The New King James Version. (1982). (Pr 27:17). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
If we were in the wrong we would want to know it, right?
As Christian brothers we should remember to treat brothers the way we would want to be treated, when sharpening a brother, or receiving the sharpening from another brother.
The final thing is “the Law and the Prophets.
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (Mt 22:37–40). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
