God is made most fully known to us through a living, breathing human with whom we interact face to face. Someone whose teachings and actions could be recorded.

Gregory of Nyssa: “That which is unassumed is unhealed.” Jesus has the greatest sympathy for our human condition because he entered it voluntarily. Because of this, he intercedes on our behalf.
For his death to substitute for us, he had to be fully human.
