On Mission or The Mission
We have been discussing relationships - yourself, with our church
Today what about those around us - neighbors and co-workers
There was a day we knew our neighbors - then came garage doors, gated communities, social media
None of those are bad per say - but they have been used to isolate us
Long before Covid this was happening
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We are called, commanded to be on mission
My old bible professor would say - You are either on mission or you are the mission
We are plan A - called to carry hope and light to a world so desperate needing it
'Not called!' did you say? 'Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face -- whose mercy you have professed to obey -- and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world. --William Booth

Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.

It all starts with your heart, attitude, and perceptions
Conduct yourself - day to day living - every day is a choice
My way or God’s way
When he says Gentiles -unbelievers
The church was under scrutiny - so the way you live matters
Life style could lead to life change

2. Is your areas of influence
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Salt first - you are salt - not gonna be, not should be , you are
Only good or bad salt
Good salt - righteous living - adds flavor/interest
Bad salt - foolish living - used to kill vegetation to clear paths

Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future he will bring honor to the way of the sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.

We are extensions of the Messiah's ministry
It is emphatic that we are light, but not our light - reflecting God’s light to the world
The question is what are you reflecting?
We live our lives and faith in such a way it points to God
See us- know we can’t live that way - God gets the credit
Our lives will either point to ourselves or to God

Where ever you are you are there to seek and build His kingdom first -
Who are they
Who has God put on your heart, in your life that you can be salt and light for
Stop complaining about culture - and step into it with light
Invite or start a small group of people who don’t go to church
Have coffee with someone and tell them what God has done
Ask everyday for a chance to speak hope and love into someone
When our heart beats with God’s - our heart”s will break with His
If you then who
How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.
