Think about a brief summary of the sermon. Think about the following main points:

c. Waiting in patience rests on experiencing the love of God
Some Questions for Discussion: Focus the discussion on: Waiting for God’s time for romance,
sexual intimacy and every blessing in life.
1. What are the circumstances that make you impatient? When do you hate waiting the most?
2. What makes it hard to wait in the various circumstances of life?
3. In relationships we are not in control – we depend on another person’s will and desire.
a. How do we try to control such situations?
b. What happens to relationships where we try to control the other person?
4. What makes it hard for a couple ‘in love’ to wait for marriage before sexual intimacy?
5. How would you answer someone who said “Why should we wait? What’s the point?”
a. If it was an unbeliever?
b. If it was a believer?
6. Read Song of Songs 2:16, 6:3, 7:10. How does genuine love help us to wait? And how does
uncertainty about genuine love in a relationship often hurry physical love?
7. Who is really in control of all our relationships – and all of life?
a. Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
b. How do we discern God’s time?
8. How is experiencing the love of God different than knowing about the love of God? Comment
on Romans 5:5.
9. Song of Songs 2:16, 6:3, 7:10 speak of the certainty of love. How does the certainty of God’s
love help us when we are waiting for His blessings? Read and think about Jude 21.
