Every relationship has a future glory c. The danger of unbiblical expectations Some Questions for Discussion 1. What do you think: did we spend too much time on the Song of Songs? Why or why not? 2. List and discuss the ways that the Song of Songs views sexuality, romance and love, and how it contrasts with our culture. 3. As you look back at the Song of Songs as a whole, what lesson do you take away? 4. Think of ‘happy’ love stories/movies – how do they usually end? [What do we expect from a happy ending?] 5. Why did the Holy Spirit choose these verses as the last song? What does it say about loving relationships? 6. What expectations does a young couple, about to be married, have about marriage? 7. What expectations should a married couple have? 8. What is your definition of a good marriage? 9. Is a marriage that is good done changing and growing? 10. Read Romans 8:22, 23 a. Why does creation groan? b. How might these verses apply to marriage? [Is marriage one of the things God created?] c. In what ways do Christian marriages groan? [In fact, do they ‘groan’ more than those of unbelievers – is there a great weight on them?] 11. Read Philippians 2:12, 13. How does God work in relationships? How is He at work in our marriages?
