I Kings 15:5-15 and II Chron. 15:1-7
Short Review
Review the main points of the morning message.
Some Questions for Discussion: Focus on: God’s promise that He will be found by those who seek Him.
1. Here’s a trivia quiz. Name the person/people who are well known for being successful in each of the
following areas:
a. Business
b. Finance
c. Family Life
d. Food, Nutrition and Health
2. What “keys to success” do they offer?
3. Give us your definition of a “successful life.” When you look back, years from now, what would make you
think of your life as successful?
4. Apply to your own life situation the things commended in Asa’s life:
a. I Kings 15:12, 13
i. Think of destroying idols. How do you live out integrity before God, in spite of social
convention or pressure, at work, school, other places where you have responsibility?
ii. Think of ‘overthrowing grandma!’ What challenges do we face in living for Christ with
respect to our families?
b. II Chronicles 14:8-11.
i. What are the circumstances of life we encounter which are too big to face on our own
strength? Examples from your own life?
ii. Is it hard to pray in those circumstances? What do you pray?
5. What is the promise of God in II Chronicles 15:2? In what does God’s promise guarantee us success?
6. What does it mean to “find God” and for “God to be with us?” [Think of the context of Asa’s life. Think of
the promises of the N.T. – Matt. 28:20; Hebrews 13:5,6; Romans 8:37-38 etc.]
7. Are there times when it is a challenge to trust this promise (that God is with us)? Examples?
a. How have you sustained your faith in God’s promises at those times?
b. How do the prayers of other Christians help to sustain our faith?
