I. Divorce under the Law. (vs 1-4)

Deuteronomy 24:1-4

“….there was not found a helper fit for him. Gen 2:20

“…..he made into a woman and brought her to the man.” Gen 2:22

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Gen 2:24

II. Divorce from hardness of heart. (vs 5)

“…..because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.” Matthew 19:8

III. Marriage from the beginning. (vs 6-9)

“….Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast (cleave) to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Matthew 19:5

“So they are no longer two but one flesh (physical union). What therefore God has joined together (spiritual union), let not man separate.” Matthew 19:6
