THE CRAFTING OF THE CALL
THE CRAFTING OF THE CALL
The reading of the text of Isaiah 6:8, poses fundermental questions: After what?
The hebrew term translated “Then i heard the voice (NIV), “Also i heard (KJV),” literally means, “and; together with; that is; or; then. so that we render it, “Together with seeing, i heard the voice.” i have seen the things of God, i have heard the things of God! i have seen God’s intentions for humanity, i have heard God’s pronouncement on humanity.
the case is clear that man has cut for himself a path of destruction: 1. Refused to recognize His Lordship. Isaiah 1: 2-4- 2. full of pride and contempt- Isaiah 3:16 ,
3. Driven by perveted values- Isaiah 5:20- “They call evil good.” 4. it is hopelesly down the path of destruction Isaiah 3:8.
a
The Nature of the Call
God is dealing with the problem of sin
Problem of the perverted values (5:20). call evil good.
in this situation man deserves death. the fairness demands him be destroyed. but before God plunders he pleads. and before He judges He justifies.
and in that chamber when the fate of man was being sealed, God in His eternal mercies evoked His grace. “I’ve got a plan He said.” ive got a plan to redeem man. but who wil go? and Jesus said, Here iam o Lord, send me.”
It is not Isaiah, but Jesus! for no man could save man. no angel could save man. but in His mercies, siad “I will Go! and become their sin , that they ay recieve my rigteousness. I will go and die their death that they may live my life.
“The news of man's fall spread through heaven. Every harp was hushed. The angels cast their crowns from their heads in sorrow. All heaven was in agitation. A council was held to decide what must be done with the guilty pair”( PP 149).
“The angels could not rejoice as Christ opened before them the plan of redemption, for they saw that man's salvation must cost their loved Commander unutterable woe. In grief and wonder they listened to His words as He told them how He must descend from heaven's purity and peace, its joy and glory and immortal life, and come in contact with the degradation of earth, to endure its sorrow, shame, and death.” {PP 64.2}
“The angels prostrated themselves at the feet of their Commander and offered to become a sacrifice for man. But an angel's life could not pay the debt; only He who created man had power to redeem him.”{PP64.3}
“notwithstanding their great sin, they were not to be abandoned to the control of Satan. The Son of God had offered to atone, with His own life, for their transgression. A period of probation would be granted them, and through repentance and faith in Christ they might again become the children of God.” {PP66.2}
The crafting of the call is the plainest yet most deepest expression of God’s infinite grace.
King James Version Chapter 3
Moreover the LORD saith,
cBecause dthe daughters of Zion are haughty,
And walk with stretched forth necks and †wanton eyes,
Walking and ||mincing as they go,
And emaking a tinkling with their feet:
2 Corinthians 8:8–9 (NKJV)
“Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
2. The Nurture of the Call
Care for and protect (someone or something) while they are growing.
Sin severed man’s relationship from God. It created enemity between God and man. Yet heavens having crafted a plan through which man would be reconciled together with God, it behoved God to oversee its implimentation. the heavens had to be in charge of nurturing this graet plan.
Galatians 4:4–5
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” (NKJV)
see friends this passage is packed with divine reality of the plan of redemption. “when the fulness of time came.” ImplyIing time factor in the plan. it is critical for the church to note today that this call to GO, has a time factor. it is timed, and gives no luxury of time! it is a call that comes with urgency because man does not control time but he is affected by time.
That Christ is conscious of the time factor in His ministry is no secret. He is not to be delayed, or derailed.
John 7:4–8 (NKJV)
His brothers pushed him to act outside of His time
“Go to the feast and show Yourself to the public.”
Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready...You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come.”
John 7:30 “Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.”
God controlled this incidence-the first incidence Jesus controlled, this second incidence God the father Controlled.
What an harmonoius and vigilant manner the agencies of heaven work for redemption of humanity?
Matthew 26:18 “And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.”
John 17:1
“He lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come.”
Iasiah response is with no less urgency, “Here Iam O Lord send me.” Isaiah 6:8 .He had no luxury of asking questions.
While the souls of men are dying,
And the Master calls for you,
Answer quickly when He calleth,
“Here I am, O Lord, send me.”
Ephesians 5:15-16
“redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Galatian 4:5
“that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
how were we to be adopted?
Romans 5: 6 “We were powerless, - Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2:5 “We were dead in trespasses.”
Romans 5:10 “We were enemies with God.”
Enemies (ἐχθροὶ). The word may be used either in an active sense, hating God, or passively, hated of God. The context favors the latter sense; not, however, with the conventional meaning of hated, denoting the revengeful, passionate feeling of human enmity, but simply the essential antagonism of the divine nature to sin. To mean no way no matter how much he would want, would God have given us acess to Himself.
Word Studies in the New Testament (Chapter 5)
But Paul uses another term to explain what happened to remove the enemity.
vs.10- “We were reconciled to God” (καταλλάγημεν τῷ Θεῷ).
The verb means primarily to exchange; and hence to change the relation of hostile parties into a relation of peace; to reconcile.
We were exchanged with Christ! our condemnation was exchanged with his justification.
our our death exchanged with His life.
Word Studies in the New Testament (Chapter 5)
This involves, 1. A movement of God toward man with a view to break down man’s hostility, to commend God’s love and holiness to him, and to convince him of the enormity and the consequence of sin. It is God who initiates this movement in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Note in verse 10-11- we were reconciled; Havingbeen Reconciled; have recieved reconciliation (atonment).
its done and dusted. no more enemity. misssion accomPlished. God faithfulness decleared. and now man’s moving towards God is POSSIBLE!
Therefore go bring them, there is no more barrier! Go
