16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Tithe & Prayer
Proverbs 11:24–25 NKJV
24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. 25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Text of the Day
Matthew 4:18–22 (NKJV)
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

What does it say?

Matthew 4:18 NKJV
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
Jesus called to sets of brothers, Simon & Andrew.
Andrew was casting his net into the sea.
they where fishermen.
Matthew 4:19 NKJV
19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus said “Fallow me, I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:20 NKJV
20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
they Immediately left their nets and fallowed Him.
Matthew 4:21 NKJV
21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,
He went on and saw two other brothers James and John.
Here we see that James and John worked with their father, Zebedee.
John and His brother James where in the boat with the father Zebedee Mending nets.
Jesus called them.
Matthew 4:22 NKJV
22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Again we see this word “immediately.” They left the boat and their Father.

What does it mean?

Discipleship means to come after- Jesus offered the come after to these four fishermen, He offers the same subtle suggestion to you and I.
Jeremiah 16:16 NKJV
16 “Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the Lord, “and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
to disciple means to fallow Jesus in a way that we reflect and reteach. many of us have become attenders rather than reflectors.
they left the place they knew to fallow Jesus.
lets be clear, they left all they knew to fallow Jesus.
He Goes further to call James and John. James and John are with their father, mending their nets and Jesus calls them.
Simon and Andrew James and John, all fallowed Jesus Immediately.

how do I apply this to my life?

Have you excepted that call to fallow Jesus?

I don’t mean simply are you saved? although since i brought it up i think I should ask:

Are you surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ? Do you know Him for yourself?

I Have another question:

If you are saved, can others tell?

if the answer to the above question is no however you are quit sure of your salvation, then today is all about the Holy Spirit guiding you into the life changing truth of discipleship which is to crucify the flesh and fallow Jesus.
how do I do that?
you get into the word daily.
there is an old hymn called Jesus on the main line.
read the word and pray.
what reservations do you have ?
James and John left their father with the boat to fallow Jesus.
Mark 3:31–35 NKJV
31 Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. 32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” 33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
Luke 14:26 NKJV
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:33 NKJV
33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
