Overwhelmed to Overcoming (Baptisms in.....)

At the end of the series of August looking at baptism, I just felt one of the things that comes out. Being baptized in the Holy Spirit is Overflow, something more. When we full of the Holy Spirit you know it when you see someone for the Holy Spirit you know it cuz there's an abundance of life. I don't want to ask us, will the question this morning. If somebody asked you this week, this month, what's going on in your world, your smile, how can you be so positive at this time? How can you let you get these words of wisdom from Yeah, when those kind of questions come, it's a great opportunity to answer them. First aisle light. I just had to give God the glory in trouble times then say it is somebody else to do because obviously, it's evidence. People are looking at you and seeing something in your life and I want to know more about it. That's the Old Testament. Sometimes Old Testament is not words what we say. It's what we do.

I'm so let me encourage you because at this time, I don't know how many times people to say, oh I'm really busy, I'm pretty tired, I'm overwhelmed. I have two people use the price that I stopped using. Now, I'm not doing too bad under the circumstances, I don't know what you're doing it because I'm not under my circumstances. I am not because I please my circumstances greater power than who I am in Christ. Consequently how we all depends on what's going on? Weather all football team's winning, whether there's enough money in our bank accounts with a week, open with what we have to do it work, whether we getting on with our family and suddenly how we are and we become a thermometer, we become at the moment to this following the temperature around. Robin the thermostat which actually sucks the temperature. And so I want to encourage us and I want to, I want to do that from a sense of abundance, from a sense of fruitfulness from the same. So what is God is able to do in our lives? And so, I wants to look at the Old Testament. Goodsprings in the Old Testament. Yes. There is. It. Lays great foundations in the Old Testament. And so my title for today, he's overwhelmed or overcome.

So if you go to Bible, if you would have turned their to Kings chapter 2 lb reading, very scriptures from that particular story that introduced us to anybody has never heard of him before I go into uses to Elijah, he was ministering in Northern Israel in about 8:48 BC to about 797b. See about fifty years. We're going to look up three scenes in his life. Now, I don't know whether you know Elijah but you probably heard like that we have to sing a song. These are the days of Elijah. And Elijah was a great prophet of the Lord, and he did some amazing things. And Alicia will see what he's meant to say. He was going to be the man that followed authors the prophet that God has cooled. That's where I'm going to kind of ice my stories that I just think of it about being overwhelmed. I'm not just talkin about a Feeling Sometimes it can be literally numbers. It might be how much money we've got coming into a bank account for a month and how much we know is going to go out in that month and that could help us to feel like it might be all Diaries, open up your diary and look at it like, oh my goodness.

It might be our emotional capacity now you feel full and somebody said something with you that fills you with angst and concern and then somebody else comes along and is going to have a chat and you just think I'm full already. I haven't gotten a sense of being overwhelmed. So you physically be struggling with sleep very well recently and he was next I started I was thinking, where's my sleep? Come. and when we are running on empty, when that's, when we so easily feel overwhelmed,

But often or attitude to an overwhelming situation is weed and start to feel stressed and then we start to feel out of control.

so, if I just like to look at to Kings chapter 2, But this.

2 Kings chapter 2, verses 1 to 10. Let me read the story and then we'll draw something for me. And it came to pass when the Lord was about to take out Elijah into Heaven by a whirlwind that Elijah went with Elijah from gilgal. Then please for the Lord, has sent me on to Bethel, but Elijah said, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel together. Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel, came out to him and he said, yes, I know. Keep silence and then stay here. Please for the Lord, has sent me on to Jericho but he said, ask the Lord lives and I will not leave you. So I'd like time to Jericho Now, the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elijah and said to him do you know the Lord will take away your monster from you today and so Jansen said, yes, I know, keep silence and I said to him stay here please while the Lord has sent me on to Jordan and he said, as the Lord lives as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And the two of them went home and fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing never the distance of also two of them, stood for the Jordan. Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up and struck the water and it was divided this way and that so that the two of them crossed over on dry land. And so, it was when they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elijah ask for, I may do for you before. I am taken away from you, and Elijah said, please let me have a double portion of the spirit, be upon me. I'm so he said you was off the hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you. But if not, it shall not be so so we hear the story of Elijah the prophet. And what do we know about Eliza? Well, if we read back in earlier, in in King's, what will will, will see how do not move. So miraculously he faced down the prophets of Baal. I'm here, ice someone from the debt. He called down fire from heaven. Upon the enemies of Israel.

Elijah is going to take over from Elijah. I think God has done all these things to do so amazing, man. I'm so he didn't want to let him go. He didn't want to let him go. He's my first lesson that I want to encourage. You don't allow the monster to get away from you. Close to them like close to Elijah, even though he said, he said no, I'm coming with you. I'd like I'm sure the journey was not easy. I'm sure the journey was difficult. Let me encourage you stay close to the master when you may feel overwhelmed, stay close to him. When our circumstances feel like they will overwhelm has a test come all way. That's the time. We need to be close to the monster.

And if we're going to move for replace it free to get overwhelmed, maybe to a place of overcoming, that we need to know the mostest. Thoughts, we need to know the Masters. Come on, we need something up, he might say to us,

And if we put our trust in the man, whose Boston, I'm not talking about Elijah. Now, I'm talking about our master and Savior. Jesus, stay close to him. Stay close to what he calls his de to stay close to what he has to do in our lives. In John chapter 15 verses 5 through 11. It says this, I am the vine, you are the branches, whoever, if I seen me I thought I had a b in me.

As much fruit for without me, you can do nothing. If anyone does notified in me, he's cost out as a branch and he's with it and they got them up and throw them into the fire. And they have burned, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall do what you decide and it shall be done for you. By this, my father is glorified that you might bear much fruit, so that you will be my disciples as the father loved me. I also have loved you abide in my love. If you keep my Commandments, you will abide in my love. Just as I kept my father's Commandments in the Bible, in his love. These things, I have spoken to you, and my joy May remain in you and that your joy may be full. Abide in him. Now, I don't know what you understand by the word to buying a b. A b is not something that you, it's not just come and stay. The best way I could probably illustrate. This is, imagine you're traveling somewhere, York. You put a suitcase down in Negril on a suitcase.

Others, they call Central until everything's in the cupboard and ready. And then basically saying I'm making myself a hug

As we reading or Elijah abiding in the vine, stay close to him as he has to close to Elijah. He said, as the Lord lives, I will not leave you.

Three times. He saw I'm going on. He said no, I'm coming with you as the Lord lives. I will come with you.

And then we reading chapter verses, 9 and 10.

And when they cross the Elijah said to, Elijah asked what he should do for you before. I am taken from you and you're like, you said, please let that be a double portion of your spirit on me. And he said, you have all the whole thing.

Elijah has big of Elijah, a double portion. All week on Council miracles from God's. Let's count on him anyway. Let's count on God and asked you're just ask the big thing. Let's pray when we come to something, which overwhelms let's look to the source of all and that he can provide a measure of any more than we ask or imagine.

There are plenty of miracles in the Old Testament if you look at your see them, we would tend to think. They're all focused Around Jesus time. And what did Jesus say to you send it to the father. He said I will send the Holy Spirit the comforter to enable you to be filled to be overflowing to be full of abundance.

So let me ask this question.

Because Elijah off the larger many times. Are you asking the big thing of the monster?

It's easy to get into comparison, it's easy to get to a place where we send some field, but we have to cope with what's going on. Are We content with where we are in? Proverbs 14:30 says this. Heart at peace, gives life to the body but Envy rupp's the bones. I love Proverbs straight. And to the point, let's make don't mind make online without the wind not going to be overwhelmed, when not going to be overworked, we not going to be over stressed. I'm thinking that God can give us a double portion when we need it. Nick lazy ass stinks. He says, this are expected to have one handful with Tranquility than two, handfuls with toil and chasing the wind.

it's going to look at the second second seeing now, in 2 Kings, chapter 4, We moved from need now. And we now come across the wife of one of the prophets.

Let me read a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets, cried out to Elijah saying you'll seven, my husband is dead and you know, that your 75th the Lord and the Creditor is coming to take my son's to be his slaves. So Elijah's it to her. What should I do for you? Tell me. What do you have in the house? And she said, you'll make seven has nothing but a jar of oil then he said go borrow wrestles from everywhere from audio. Name is empty. Empty vessels, do not gather just a few and when you have come in, you shut the door behind you and your sons and then you will pull into those vessels and set aside the full. So she went with him and shut the door. She went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons who brought the vessels to her? She pulled it out and it came to pass that when the vessels were all full, then she said to her son, bring me another vessel. He said to her, there is not another vessel and the oil ceased Then she came and told them out of garden said, go sell the oil and pay your debt and you and your sons live on the rest. But she's another Prophet Elijah and yet she had a situation going to be put into slavery to Elijah Woods. It likes you too is what do you have? Pull on the Lord, not have a complain. What do you have? I need to try a sense of overwhelming. I still think of us as what do you have? What do you have? She said, I have one jar of oil. If you want to think about this logically 111 while I should go to browser, wisdom would be to say what? Okay. Why don't you stop making your bread with a little less oil and a little more water taste good. But give you a call, just set your sexual scene by what you have.

No, you didn't. You said what you have now go and gather go and gather and so she just Facebook the check maybe it'll put something on the containers. Here's the thing. The oil stopped when the containers were full. I'm sure that being woken tight as it wasn't, that I was a limited limited capacity on the Miracle of God's provision. That was a limited capacity on the family to contain that which God wanted to give. Those were the containers that she had, and it was born.

Elijah said, go in now, live on the excess that you have. And so, it starts with what do you have? I'm going to send Scott, he's asking I've seen all times and feelings of being overwhelmed. What do you have? We can think about stories in the Bible when Jesus turned to the crowd and said, if anybody got any food on the boy came with some lotions and fish, and that was more than enough.

So as we look to the life of Elijah, we see, abundance and plenty.

Isn't it interesting that God's blessing did not stop until every vessel was full? Another way you might bring some ways to Mays might say, well, okay, let's look at what you've got and then that's how I'll survive till the next season. You know what, I think if somebody's if I said to you I like how you run your own crackers for the next 6 weeks, cuz that's all we can afford.

I think I'd probably be complaining practice for the next 6 weeks.

Stories. Sorry, so focus on what do you have and God blesses it. Don't does not cut Corners in our worlds. He wants the glasses. He wants to bless us fully right now. In 2 Kings chapter 4.

A man of mine came from Belle, Chasse on the man of God bread and the firstfruits twenty loaves of garlic bread and UT ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, give it to the people that they may eats for the sub said what he said. He can give it to the people that they may eat. For that says, the Lord shall eat and have some left over. So, I reset it before them and I ate and there was some left over.

According to the word of the Lord. What was broke was bread and fruits and it would have been enough to field feed. Elijah and Addie's is 7, but he said my feet the man. Under 7 immediately says, a hundred people out there. You want me to feed a hundred people. Elijah has learned. He'd learned from what God had done for the Widow that he could do it again. I'm sorry. Instead of saying okay. Everybody else first. And that was more than enough. More than enough. More than enough to provide. Ask you the question that you feeling overwhelmed, are you feeding overcome all? That thing's a cause to think budgets and constraints of limitations or are we trusting in God's and saying he's able to do it measurably more than we ask or imagine. I'm not saying we, we, we hide the little beehive Wayside. Okay. Got it switched over to you, we come when we bring what we have and we asked. So blessed.

Elijah a b is monster. A number of times, he asked and got provided a number of times. He said, I'm not leaving them out. So I'm following with Elijah. If we want somebody so I can go to do something in our lives. We need to look to a storehouse is greater than ours. And that Storehouse this greater than ours. He's ahead of me, still house. I don't know how you picture storehouses but if you've ever seen the films where they walk into great bongs, I'm taking the picture I had in my mind and I can't remember which of the Indiana Jones films is where they walk into these warehouse and it goes on and on and on to the distance.

That's the kind of picture I have of a storehouse in heaven. Not just a little bit, just a little bit because we're immediately kind of talking about limitation I might believe in a god of more than enough leave of God, he's able to do it measurably more than we ask or imagine.

I'm so how can I bring this together? Will they say three things that I want to encourage yesterday's? Fastly. As I said do not move them in the mouth decide. Stay close to the monster. There's no better place to be than to stay close to him as we stay close to him. We will find that he wants to speak to us. He will have strategies for us us strategies for all situations.

But when we hang around with the master, there is more than enough. Peppa Pig call. Enough to see the neat. Many times, you know, I've done this, if I'm honest with you there are times when I'm running out of time by Nazis, if I'm running out to something and then another situations stops to come my wife. I'm aware that maybe somebody want some time with the phone. Cool. Want some of my time and I just think I look at what I have. And then I kind of into budget mode. I'm thinking about an hour I have already got time to pop and see you, I'm ready. Got time for this conversation? You know, I believe God is able to enlarge your time to please don't. Just think this is about money. There are times when even this week, even this week, I had quite a busy week this week. And I was on, on the, on the conference call to Australia in my diary was full for the rest of the day. I said, can you help us with these three things? Could go, my extra 10 minutes is my coffee time. I'm looking at my daughter, I'm thinking the next cool stuff in 10 minutes. I'd like 10 minutes in my daughter, to have a make another coffee and cake myself. Refreshed, get away from the chair, stretch inside me, everything was just driving. And I think And then I was thinking, I was going to come up with these three ideas in 10 minutes? You might be 10 minutes anyway, I'm sorry I didn't see this. I switch my camera off and so they couldn't see me about my head and I pride 10 minutes to was the end of the meeting. So I have no clue. I'm in pain into my mind.

I just bright. Then it came to two minutes to the hour and I said, thanks very much. Okay, we can go now and then Justice until you saying we're running late. Can you give us another 10 minutes? Hallelujah.

I would encourage you. Let's play close to the monster is open on a Heinz open on east of the need around us. And look to God, he will provide. And then what we take, what we have and use it in Fife and pray and see what God does. So let me try

Father, thank you. Do you all go to Morgan in them? Thank you that you were got a provision. Thank you that you're a God. Who is able to do it measure be more than we Oscar, in my to. Thank you that you do not leave us. You sent your son Jesus. To pay the price that we might have this relationship through him to you. But even as he returns your side, you sent the Holy Spirit to enable us to empower us to facilitate us. Father God for all the help us to be your hands and feet in this world. Help us to open our eyes to the need around us. I know to ask me to do that. Help us not to be overwhelmed, but to be abundant and overflowing to be Overcomers in the midst of challenge to be Overcomers in the midst of need to be overcome as when we run out and we're running on empty because you fill us up again and again and again.

Philosophical reply. This morning right now. Father, I pray that as we look into a week ahead and it's a shorter week cuz we have a holiday tomorrow brother, even as we step into that father, even just that one life study means for some people. It's a busy awake.

It's a father God. I pray that you'd help us to lift our eyes up, lift our eyes, off the circumstances, leave the ice off the situation to see if he's able and he's willing to do. You Sauced and who wants to bless us? And she says, I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh, my help focusing, on the Hills, it's getting our eyes off. The problem is going on there, instead of getting out eyes on the circumstances, you'd be overwhelmed. David says, I will lift up mine, eyes to the Hills. I will lift mine eyes because it's over my circumstances. I am not, we are not under all circumstances. We are Overcomers. We are Overcomers in Christ, Jesus.

I am aware that that's a pride and it's like tool that maybe some people who were listening to die. You say who is this master the times talking about I don't have a monster.

Should I go outside? He's only sun. God, creating this amazing world that we live in. He created this amazing universe that we, we applied it.

And he created because he wanted to have fellowship with mankind. We messed it up. We got it, bro. I'm so glad we deemed his creation by sending his one and only son to pay the price for our wrongdoing.

And that's the mobster that I'm talking about who sits at the right hand of the father. He speaks and intercedes on our behalf.

Who did Miracles without Miracles and continues to do miracles in our lives day by day.
