I. Introduction:
Today we will get back on track with the series, The Five Keys To Growing In Faith. Today’s topic is ‘You Must Understand The Reality Of satan and his kingdom (Part 2). In the fisrt part we learned the origin of satan.
II. Review (The Reality Of satan and his kingdom (Part 1)):
A. There is more to this world than what we see with our natural eyes.
B. Satan is a created being. There is a beginning and end to his existence.
C. Satan was created as a cherub (Eze 28:11-15):
“You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”
D. There was war in Heaven (Rev 12:1-8):
And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
E. When Adam was created, satan and the fallen angels (i.e., demons) were already in the earth realm (Gen 3:1-5):
F. By disobeying God, Adam turned over to satan his authority to rule in the earth realm.
III. Understand The Reality Of satan and his kingdom (Part 2)
Eph 2:1-9
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
IV. satan Sets The Course Of This World Because he Is The god Of This World:
John 12:27-30 NKJV
27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.”
Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
V. satan Is Referred To As The prince of The Power of the Air:
Job 1:18-19 NKJV
18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, 19 and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
Matthew 8:23-27 NKJV
23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. 25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. 27 So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
VI. satan is referred to as the spirit that works in the sons of disobedience:
2 Cor 4:3-4 NKJV
3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
VII. We Constantly Struggle Against satan and his demonic forces of evil:
Ephesians 6:10–12 NKJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
VIII. Conclusion:
We have been authorized by Almighty God to represent the Kingdom of God on earth. We have authority over satan and the demonic forces of evil.
Luke 10:17-21 NKJV
17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”
18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
IX. Prayer of Declaration and Closing Blessing:
The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you pace.
Motto: I will do great things because The Greatest One lives in me!
