Pandemic and Beyond Sunday School

Isaiah 26:1–3 ESV

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 26:4–7 ESV

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.” The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.

Thanks to all who have been teaching the Word in Sunday school. I feel like i haven’t been here in a minute. . but we are so blessed with GREAT GREAT teachers and preachers…

So I’m back and have to get used to this 20 minute time limit .

This pandemic has brought its share of problems and blessings.

Problems: death, despair, danger, discord

Blessings: spiritual awakening, sharing with one another, digital proclamations of the Gospel

entrepreneurs growth. . dreams being realized

some people had an acute focus on what God placed on their heart to birth. Innovations and more

Focus. . .

Focus. . the focus it takes for the Olympic gymnast to flip on the balance beam. . . the focus it took for many scientist who quickly developed a vaccine to bring a level of quality of life and normalcy....

this is the focus we have to have on the Lord to get us through another wave of pandemic woes. . . pandemic political foolishness. . . potential shutdowns.

we must be focused of the Lord

Our text in Isaiah sounds eerily similar to what’s happening now. They were not dealing with a global medical pandemic. . yet the state of the nation was the same. The nation was in ruins, destruction had over taken them and they were in despair, disillusion !!!

In the moment the people could not see future glory and salvation . They are in the moment.

God gave Isaiah a glimpse into the future and after he saw what he saw. . . . he could boldly make the declaration.

“you keep them in perfect peace”

Isaiah got his shout back. . . It is the Lord who give us not just peace. . . Perfect Peace.

Faithful Focus

remind yourself of Gods faithfulness

Foundational Focus

remember the Word of God

he will not leave you nor forsake you

Favorable Focus

remember God’s previous acts

if he did it before, he will do it again.
