8/28 - The Burden of Worship

Intro - Habakkuk1.1 The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw (Oracle or word)

The Burden means to carry to lift or to bring. It is used to describe a Donkey’s Burden , it is a picture of when you lay a heavy load on a donkey.

The prophets treated the word of the Lord as a heavy load to be delivered. This is the same word moses used to when the sons of Aaron carried the tabernacle in the wilderness.

To have a burden from the Lord is the ultimate level of trust and intimacy. A burden is the heart of the father (Abraham recieved the burden of Gods heart for sodom and gahmorra)

1. See the Burden

Habakkuk saw the burden.

Isaiah 6 - Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up

This is where your Authority comes from!

This is why you can say the same thing someone else says but it lacks authority, you havent seen what they have seen. (Sons os sceva ) (preaching another persons message)

Singing the same songs is okay when you receive a new burden.

Having this genuine encounter privately is what gives you authority publicly

2. Carry the Burden

Isaiah 6 - who will go for us? Isaiah says send me I will go!

Isaiah had this experience after he saw the Lord the lord gave Isaiah a specific assignment.

This is where His burden becomes your burden, There is a wrestling that has to takes place where the lords heart becomes your heart.

This is where your confidence comes from. Not because you are talented but because you have meet with Jesus and He has given you an assignment!

3. Deliver the Burden

Habakkuk 2.2 - “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

God cant trust His burden with people who wont deliver it!

Receiving burdens for people durring this trip but failing to deliver them.

Ezekiel 3.16-17Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand

Its time to put fear and intimidation away and boldly deliver the burden the Lord has given you!

Jeremiah 20.9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him,Nor speak anymore in His name.”But His word was in my heart like a burning fireShut up in my bones;I was weary of holding it back,And I could not.

Carry the Burden - Wrestle with it until it becomes a part of you

Deliver the Burden - with Authority and confidence bring forth the word of the Lord
