Our weakness is exposed so that God can focus our healing where it needs to come.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
when the disciples were together
The gathering of the disciples symbolized the unity of God’s Kingdom.
The gathering of the nations reversed Babel (Gen 11) and fulfilled the promise to Abraham (Gen 12, 17) to disperse God’s blessing through His family (Israel) out to the nations of the world.
The unity of the church is essential to reflect how Jesus’ accomplishment at the Cross fulfilled Ancient Israel’s purpose and hope for Redemption.
for fear of the Jewish leaders
The expectation for the Messianic King promised to return and bring victory over Israel’s enemies (Rome) was shattered when they witnessed Jesus being crucified.
