Psalm 132 raises our eyes to new heights, to consider not only the riches of God’s forgiveness, but the even greater inheritance he gives his people—a city that will never pass away, in a kingdom that endures forever, a place where he dwells with us and we with him. This is an inheritance which is only possible because of the riches of God’s work in and through Christ, and that work is here anticipated by the psalmist as he rejoices in how God had chosen to make Zion the place of his dwelling.
