Revelation 20:7–10 NKJV

Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

After the 1000 year reign of Christ Satan is released for one last time!

Go and Magog - names synonymous with rebellion as foretold in the book of Ezekiel chapters 38 - 29

In chapters 36 - 37 the Israelites are restored to the land then 38 -39 the war comes and chapters 40 - 48 the eternal rule of God

And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

How can man possible rebel after the literal reign of Christ?

It proves man’s heart is deceitfully wicked

As many as the sands fo the sea…numberless

It is no different than the rebellion of God today

These are souls of those born during the reign of Christ

We will have our glorified bodies

As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Now to judgement - The White Throne Judgement

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

We have eternity within and it is leading us to deliverance!

Now, Death & Hell deliver up their inhabitants

We saw that they had power for a time, inseparable in their actions, now they are sentenced together

So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Hell is not a place of eternal suffering or eternal activity! only until this day! The Holy Spirit wrote:

The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

1 Corinthians 15:50–58 NKJV

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

This should be the motivating factor in our work for Christ!

We should be steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord!

We should not let the fear of death keep us from our appointed activities! Death will finally be defeated!

The Final penalty is Gehenna which is the second death

The Christian is not destined for the second death!

Revelation 20:6 NKJV

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Men will be judged according to their works

The word here Judged is “to sift” “to seek justice” “to be engaged in a legal dispute”

Man is in the middle of a legal dispute with God

God’s way are clearly spelled out in His Word - man however is looking for loopholes to circumvent His way

In that day there will be no escape clause of “get out of jail free” card!

Revelation 21:8 NKJV

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

How do you plan to bring defense for your actions?

I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

Romans 2:6 NKJV

who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:

And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;

Works Money? Prayers? There is only one way out of this legal case!

Justification will come as their works give evidence of their lack of a relationship with Christ!
