Introduction

Matthew 6:10 KJV 1900
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Body

Is this world unimportant?
Genesis 1:1 KJV 1900
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Why didn’t God create us as spirit beings? He gave us physical bodies to operate in a physical world.
God created this world and said it was “very good.”
1 Timothy 4:8 KJV 1900
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Our spirituality is meant to influence our world at large as well as lead people to Christ.
Genesis 1:28 KJV 1900
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We are mandated to transform this fallen world and bring it in line with scripture.
Jesus learned a trade. He healed the physical bodies of the sick. He provided for their natural sustenance as well as their spiritual.
As Scripture is to be applicable to every area of our lives, so also our dominion mandate extends to every area of life; legal, political, social, economic, etc. We are to transform our society and bring it in line with God’s precepts.
Primarily, this will be done through salvation
Matthew 5:13–16 KJV 1900
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
After that, we are to be salt and light in our society, influencing the direction of our culture.
Love motivates us to do what needs to be done
1 Corinthians 13:1–7 KJV 1900
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
We need to love the things Jesus loves, but we also need to hate the things Jesus hates.
What does Jesus hate?
Sin
Unrighteousness
Oppression and domination of people
Cruelty to our fellow man
It’s easy to let “love” flow over into things it ought not flow over into.
We can get comfortable, or forget altogether, the sins of a nation or a society
We can justify them by saying its for the greater good, or its for our safety
We can rationalize them because that’s easier and cleaner than confronting them
Jesus demonstrated both His love for humanity AND His hatred of sin
People nowadays only seem to talk. Where is the person who will act?
Talk about what Biden messed up this week
Talk about what Biden said last week
Talk about why he’s a bad president
But no one is going to do anything about it!
Ezekiel 13:1–5 KJV 1900
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord; 3 Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. 5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.
Ezekiel 22:23–31 KJV 1900
23 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.
There are false prophets today telling us that things are okay. That killing unborn babies is okay. That living in sin and immorality is okay. That God just want us to be happy.
There are religious leaders in the world today telling us that the Bible is in error on this point or that. That it’s mistranslated. That is is not relevant to us today.
There are Christians in the world today that are okay with the status quo. They are fine with letting things go as they are as long as their lifestyle remains unaffected.
Things are NOT okay. Sin is NOT okay. God wants us to be saved. He never said anything about happiness. Do you think Jesus was happy here on earth?
The Bible is the very Word of Truth! There are no errors, no inconsistencies, and it is the most relevant message we can find today.
The status quo is, in reality, the direction the enemy wants us to go. And I promise you, you let him go long enough and you’re lifestyle will be affected.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.
— Pastor Martin Niemoller

Conclusion

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV 1900
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
We must find it within ourselves to stir up a love for this land, for its people, that will cause us to sacrifice. That will move us to do something effectual.
How does this look?
In La Crosse county, we’ll know we’re done when everyone has been saved and is living for God.
We’re done when the laws reflect Biblical principles.
We’re done when they’re teaching scripture and godliness in our schools.
Until then we have work to do. Not talk. Not focus groups. Work.
Manifesting our Dominion Mandate in our world begins here at home.
