ME

2020 Isolation and FOMO

I have felt cut off or disconnected from the world
Even before COVID, before I got married, I wanted to date and everyone seemed against it.
The result? I end up disconnected from God because I don’t want God to tell me no, I feel guilty about my choices. I feel disconnected from people because I feel like they are judging me for making choices they don’t agree with or understand. And worse if I get in trouble or end up in a problem I can’t fix, I feel stuck or by myself in dealing with it. Since I feel guilty or ashamed or judged I disconnect from friends, family and God.
This is cycle that happens all the time under normal circumstances. What if we add to this events of the last 18 months? What if I am feeling alone, disconnected and then the whole world disconnects from each other and seemingly from God, no more in person gatherings, no more church, no hanging out with friends...

Isaiah 43:16–18 NLT
I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.

Israel requires to be shaken out of a faith that has nothing to learn about God’s activity, and therefore nothing to learn about what is possible with him, the great danger which threatens any faith that is hidebound in dogmatism, faith that has ceased to be able to expect anything really new from him.
