Characteristics of God

Intro
Who is God?
If your looking for the relative answer......well that depends on who you ask....
Muslims - There is 1 God and his profit is mohammed
Hindu’s- believe there are many god’s
Atheists- believe there is no god
Agnostics- beleive we can’t know whether there is a god or not
New Age- believes they are the god’s
JW’s- believe only the father is God, but not Jesus or Holy Spirit
Mormons- believe in the trinity but also believe they will become god’s
You ask 10 people your probably get 15 answers on who God is or isn’t
If your looking for the absolute answer....you have to look to the Bible
The Bible is God’s way of introducing Himself to human Kind
without the Bible we’d be as lost as everyone else is in their understanding about God.
Today let’s take a look at who the Bible descibes God is.

1. God Is Infinite – He is Self-Existing, Without Origin

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
2. God Is Immutable – He Never Changes
Malachi 3:6 NASB95
“For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

3. God Is Self-Sufficient – He Has No Needs

John 5:26 NASB95
“For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;

4. God is Omnipotent – He Is All Powerful

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

5. God Is Omniscient – He Is All-Knowing

6. God Is Omnipresent – He Is Always Everywhere

7. God Is Wise – He Is Full of Perfect, Unchanging Wisdom

8. God Is Faithful – He Is Infinitely, Unchangingly True

9. God Is Good – He Is Infinitely, Unchangingly Kind and Full of Good Will

10. God Is Just – He Is Infinitely, Unchangeably Right and Perfect in All He Does
