Truth
Truth
Hey guuys! As Dr Price said, My name is A.J. Throne. I came here 2 years ago, as many of you may know. I actually came hear starting in 7th grade, all the way to my junior year, during which, Co-Vid cancelled my return. Many of you know me. Many of you consider me your friend. Maybe even a mentor or leader. Forget that. Forget me. Forget who I am and focus on he who leads me. Christ. Can you do this? alright. lets pray.
I am going to start off with what I believe, and I am sure all the staff here would believe is the most important and fundamental truth. Here it is: Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Now, lets break this down. Who is God? God is our creator. God is perfect. He sets the very standard for good, he defines what is right and good, and he loves us. All of this time here, I would hope you know this. So God shows his love for us. How big is his Love? The Bible would have us believe there is no greater love in all the world. God is Love. His love does not fail. It is unending, unquenchable, and amazing. It is a concept so big, it is truly uncomprehendable. But here, it proves itself. God shows his love for us. Us. Of all creation, he loves us? First, why do I put such a significant weight on this part? Because we are wretched. Romans 7:24 “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” This verse was from Paul. Oh wretched man that I am, he says. Who shall deliver me from this body of death? Wow. I could preach a whole sermon just on that. But really think about that part right there. This is THE Paul. The Paul who had changed so dramatically, so completely, that many would consider him to be the greatest christian to ever live. And surely the greatest evangelist. And yet, he calls himself wretched. a rag. A useless piece of trash. insulting to the very idea of a perfect God. And this is exactly how we should think of it. We, as humans, as sinners from birth, as stains on creation, cannot comprehend how offensive we are. We choose sin daily. We allow ourselves to be enslaved to it. And yet, it does not stop there. But God, this all powerful and perfect being, shows his all consuming and truely uncomprhendable love for us, insults to him, sinners who continue to sin, that while we did continue to sin, while we continued to live in this contiunal abomination of sin, Christ.
We all know this part. Christ. 100% God and 100% man. Perfect despite his flesh, the son of God, born of a Virgin, in a manger, who lived the life of a carpenter, who served those who he ultimately created, and who died for our sins, and who rose from the grave again. Wow. Powerful stuff. But God shows his love for us, that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. The most fundamental, powerful, and amazing truth. So many of you believe this. Many of you accept this, and many of you are saved. But this is often where it stops. Okay, now we are saved. Now we know Christ died for us. Now what?
Well,
