The Book of Daniel: Sure Success

What is the point of the book?

To give us encouragement by showing God takes care of His people even when He was punishing them

God’s people were more successful than non-believers (non-people of God; pagans)

Daniel and his friends are winning from the beginning to the end

Revelation of future events

Notice all of the times the first chapter mentions the success of Daniel and his friends

God granted favor and compassion (1:9)

Better appearance (1:15)

God gave knowledge, intelligence of literature and wisdom (1:17)

God gave Daniel understanding for visions and dreams (1:17

Only Daniel and his friends were superior to the other youths of the same age (1:18-19)

Knowledge and wisdom of Daniel and friends were ten times better than all the magicians, etc (1:20)

What can we learn and do?

Take the chance by Doing What God Wants: Daniel had a choice to obey God’s eating or eat unclean animals

Don’t rock the boat = so we go along with it

Church Service: Telling them you can’t work during it

I’m not going to serve alcohol

We might not win every time but we have definite times of success
