The Message of Salvation is not Dead / The Great Commission still Matters
Scripture: Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
When we think of the highlights of our lives and all of the accolades we have acquired, and as we reminisce on the platforms we have partake in and all the significant persons we have sat next to in board meetings we have been privy to attend, When we think of the significant huhHA moments in our lives as Leaders, we can’t help but to give God praise for his blessings.
Sometimes, we have to sit down and take a moment to digest where God has carried us from and where He has established us on today. Looking back at all of what God has manifested in our lives, lets us know that we are truly blessed. We can feel special, we can appreciated and accomplished in the Kingdom of God.
But I’m present tonight to remind us that in all the accolades and elevations and speaking engagements and in all of the Greek and Hebrew wording we have embraced and learned in our walk and study as Christian Leaders, And there’s wrong with all of that.
But I want to remind us on tonight that It is still important to preach and teach the message of salvation. I’m talking about putting Salvation in our messages on purpose, being intentional to persuade not just the saved, so they can keep attending church and be consistent with their tithing and their giving, but we need to persuade those who are unsaved, those who are spiritually dead, rough and ragged, those who don’t have knowledge and understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What I’m saying here, is that, The altar call at the end of our sermons is just not enough. We need to dig deeper. We need to strategize a little more.
Luke 14:23 states, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
We don’t need to compel them with man’s words, but to compel them with the message of salvation. My first question for us tonight is this: When was the last time we preached the message of salvation?
The Bible tells us about The Great Commission
Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”
This is the focused command.
At every stage and season of our development in Christ. As we elevate, we must remain cognizant, we must stay in tuned with our core purpose in Christ, which is to draw the lost in so they can be afforded the opportunity, to receive the free gift of eternal life. So why are you dealing with this basic principle of Christianity Elder? Why because “The message of Salvation is not dead”
Our mandate from God requires us, to influence people in a manner that they choose to deny their own way and be drawn nearer to the ways of Christ. We should desire for others to reap the benefits of salvation just as we are. At the end of the day if we are to be good salesmen of the Gospel of Jesus Christ then our #1 Product have to be the product of Salvation. We mustn’t forget the golden ticket that opened up access for us to enter into the Kingdom of God.
So what are those benefits of salvation?
So my question this evening is this: Do we still care if the lost are saved? Do we still care if people are baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost? Do we still care if our household gets saved? Or is it that our personal salvation is the only salvation that matters anymore because we have somehow arrived? Because we have somehow made our personal salvation an idol, we have made our testimony an idol, so we now walk in our idol positioning. I’m not sure where they do that, but I do know its not the proper place to be.
As a reminder, I’m going to say, before we had any degrees and certifications behind our names, before we participated in a conference, or stood on a platform, before we understood revelation, tongues and the Holy Ghost, before we really understood the prophetic and spiritual warfare, before we became profound with tons of books in our biblical library, before we purchased logos, before we grasped the knowledge of intercession to practice intercession, I’m going to remind us that we were yet sinners because at one point we did not know Christ and someone took time to introduce us to the free gift of Salvation. They walked us through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved though faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast) People took time with us until we matured and could stand upright. So even as we elevate, as we expand, as we progress in the treasures Christ we are still the testimonies here on earth we are representation of Christ
There is no body of Christ without people. There is no leading if there is no one following.
Submit your eyes to see, your ears to hear and your tongue to speak the ways of God.
