Trouble in the Shul

Psalm 55 TLV
For the music director, on stringed instruments, a contemplative song of David. Give ear, O God, to my prayer and do not ignore my plea for help. Listen to me and answer me. I am restless in my complaint and moan— because of the voice of the enemy, because of the pressure of the wicked. For they thrust trouble on me, and in anger bear a grudge against me. My heart shudders within me and the terrors of death sweep over me. Fear and trembling come upon me and horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, “Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and find rest. Surely I would flee far away. I would stay in the wilderness. Selah I would hurry to my shelter from the rushing wind of the storm.” Lord, confuse and confound their speech, for I see violence and strife in the city. Day and night they make the rounds on her walls. Iniquity and mischief are within her. Ruins are in her midst. Oppression and deceit never leave her square. For if it were an enemy taunting me, I could endure it. If my foe was exalting himself over me, I could hide from him. But it is you, a man like me— my companion and my close friend! Together we enjoyed great fellowship. We used to walk with the throng in the House of God. Let desolation come upon them, let them go down alive into Sheol for evil is in their dwelling, among them. As for me, I will call on God, and Adonai will save me. Evening, morning and noon, I complain and moan, then He hears my voice. He will redeem my soul in shalom from the battle against me. For many are striving with me. God will hear and humble them —yes, the One enthroned of old. Selah Nothing changes—they do not fear God. My companion put forth his hands against those at peace with him, as he violates his covenant. Smoother than butter was his speech, yet war was in his heart. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords. Cast your burden on Adonai, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken. But You, O God, will bring them down to the Pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty, deceitful men will not live out half their days. But I—I will trust in You.
Today, really felt this reality we face today...
Because of other people I do not come to Temple. Because of them… the ones that despise the Lord, but most importantly, those that despise me.
Recently my family watched a movie about these orphans. Man, these orphans had this character built because of anger, fear, and lonliness. In the orphange things were said that got these boys into lots of trouble. However, These orphans knew when one was in trouble and needed the compassion. These group of boys through the guidance of a new teacher and football coach helped shaped them to be “Warrior Orphans”, and in the end, every boy was proud that they were an orphan because they new greater discipline, they went through harder things, they knew the dynamic change that takes place when One Stood. In the last game the ultimate test came as the opponent literally began to crush them, but even with open wounds and broken bones… They became Overcomers and persevered through it all.
Revelation 2:7 TLV
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Ruach is saying to Messiah’s communities. To the one who overcomes, I will grant the right to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of God.”
Deuteronomy 30:14–15 TLV
No, the word is very near to you—in your mouth and in your heart, to do it. “See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil.
What gets me the most is that the Word of God says that His Word is literally right there!
Instead of speaking and doing what His Word says, Instead of loving God, loving ourselves and loving others, we for some reason pile up things in our lives to increase our arrogance. In reality we have to realize what God asks of us. Last week we went over removing divisive speech and standing for what is of God. Today, we must remember what it means to stand up for what is right. What the Word of God says is that we are overcomers!
The truth is that the person next to you will not always be there to defend you, but God is always there to coach you on how to dodge/escape the enemy when he slips through.
When you stand and speak His Word, your strength is strengthen, because you become grounded on the Rock of Israel. When you stand in Faith in Yeshua and respond by submitting yourself to Him.... You will not be Shaken!
Psalm 55:23–24 TLV
Cast your burden on Adonai, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken. But You, O God, will bring them down to the Pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty, deceitful men will not live out half their days. But I—I will trust in You.
I love what is written, because we see that just like the orphans, we have become in need of a loving Father to lead us and guide us. And when I read what God says, I know that I shall overcome when I stand in His Righteousness.
1 John 2:14 TLV
I have written to you, children, because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have known the One who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
1 John 4:4–6 TLV
You are from God, children, and you have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world, so they speak from the world and the world listens to them. We are from God; whoever knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
So I am going to do a little thing:
When you look at the person next to you… do you see yourself? All of you should have said no
Who do you see? You should all have said the name or an almost accurate description of that person
How would you describe them?
Now look at yourself (without a mirror)… What can you say about yourself? YOU CAN’T SEE YOURSELF!
You see life is all about reflecting from within, because for most of your life you cannot really see yourself. And the only time we can see ourselves is through a mirror or through a friend. When a friend puts you down… its hard, because each of us entrust the one were with to help us by telling us that we got food thats stuck in between our teeth. When we look in the mirror, we trust that the mirror will help aid us in seeing ourselves to fix ourselves up for the day.
The Word of God is the same way, but even better. The Word of God points us to Him and the one who makes us righteous and true overcomers.
It took a moment of brokeness within the battle. It took hardship, tears, blood, pain and agony for these orphans to realize they were in a battle. In their lockeroom, it took for one to see what all the others are going through to realize that he wasnt the only one hurt or broken… but most importanlty it took a self-relection to realize that he was just as broken, but the words that were spoken to him to realize that he was more that what he sees, that they (his friends) were more that whay they see… That they were Orphans that were broken to bring in the Glory!
(20 dollar example) Do you still want it? It’s value never changes.
Deuteronomy 30:19–20 TLV
“I call the heavens and the earth to witness about you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live, by loving Adonai your God, listening to His voice, and clinging to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell on the land that Adonai swore to your fathers—to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob—to give them.
The person next to you has value and you have value.... Let’s not forsake the community, but stand on His truth that we are overcomers making known the Glory of GOD!
1 John 4:4 TLV
You are from God, children, and you have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
1 John 5:4–5 TLV
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. And the victory that has overcome the world is this—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world, if not the one who believes that Yeshua is Ben-Elohim?
