Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Who is this that darkeneth counsel
By words without knowledge?
Gird up now thy loins like a man;
For I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Declare, if thou hast understanding.
Introduction:
We are always asking God questions, but whats when God ask us a question that demands a answer?
YOU CANNOT HIDE YOUR SIN
We may think we are getting away with something, but there is no use trying to hide our sin. Joel Peralta discovered that while pitching for the Tampa Bay Rays against his former team, the Washington Nationals. The umpires, alerted by Nationals manager Davey Johnson, discovered pine tar in Peralta's glove. Pitchers illegally put pine tar on the baseball to increase the movement on their pitches making them harder to hit. The umpires ejected Peralta from the game. When asked how he knew the pine tar was there, National's manager Johnson said, "well, he pitched here."
It doesn't matter how deceitful we appear to be, we can hide nothing from the Lord. He is aware of all our tricks.

Where Are You ?
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
Adam and his wife was in Gods garden hiding.
Are you in church but hiding from God.
3. What tree are you hiding behind?
What is Your Name ?
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
Jacob thought he knew who he was.
You, sitting in your pew, do you know who you are?
Are you a child of God or a child of darkness.
What Are You Doing Here ?
And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
God wanted to know why Elijah was in a cave and not doing his will.
What are you doing here, and why did you come?
CHURCH IS NOT A PRIVATE PARTY
In the Netherlands a 16-year-old girl forgot to check "private" on a Facebook invitation to a birthday party. Three thousand people showed up.
Sometimes it seems like the church has set its privacy settings too stringent, and no unexpected guests ever shows up.

Where Are You Going ?
And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
There is something more important than where you came from, it where are you going.
Heaven or Hell
There is an old tale in our Scottish history, that a bridegroom was murdered by a friend on the festal day. The cup that his friend presented to him was mingled with poison; and when death was in the castle, the culprit took the fleetest horse from the stable and plunged into the forest.
All night long the hoofs of that horse struck fire as he went at galloping speed through the forest. The man wanted to get away from the scene of his crime, and would not let the fleet animal rest, but plunged the spurs deep into the horse’s flanks.
All night on and on, and as the dawn was breaking he emerged, horse bespattered with foam, breathless from the forest—right before the castle. He had ridden hard, but he had ridden round: he thought he was going away from his crime, and in the morning he came to it.
Ah, you cannot get away from your sin unless God takes you away. You cannot by speed of foot get away from your sin, your sin will go to the grave with you, your sin will go to the great white throne with you.
You cannot race your sin, you had better give it up, and see whether God in His mercy hath not some plan of redemption from sin.
