My Soul Is Anchored

2 Corinthians 4:1-9

PRAY

MY SOUL IS ANCHORED

Anchored = someone who gives support when needed. ILLUS: She was my anchor in difficult times.

We’ve discovered this fact…God Is Faithful!

God is Faithful to LEAD His people in times of danger– EXODUS - Pillar of Cloud; comforts and protects.

God is Faithful to PREPARE His people – Process of SANCTIFICATION; He who begun a good work in you…

God Is Faithful to STRENGTHEN His People – The storm wasn’t supposed to destroy you; strengthen you.

YES! God IS Faithful!

And because God is faithful, My Soul Is Anchored!

1-6-ANCHORED IN THE PRIESTHOOD-gives support to others

We “have” this ministry. Ministry = “service; enlisted in military”

“We” = all of us. - not just the pastor.

1 PE 2:5 - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Because we are Anchored in the Priesthood, We do not lose heart, or give up on the MINISTRY He has given us.

What is “this ministry?” Our MINISTRY is to reveal Christ to all.

The Bible says = minds “veiled” AND we are to remove the veil. Removing a veil is a gentle act, not a ripping off for truths’ sake.

Are you ANCHORED?

7-ANCHORED IN HIS PERSONALITY

We have this treasure in jars of clay. Who puts treasure in a clay jar? ILLUS: piggy bank.

We are clay jars, fallible but moldable.

Molded by Jesus Christ into His PERSONALITY to SPEAK TRUTH-ACTS 26:25 – Paul and Festus.

Molded by Jesus Christ into His PERSONALITY to show COMPASSION; MT 9:36 – When Jesus saw the crowds He had compassion; they were harassed, helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Molded by Jesus Christ into His PERSONALITY of LOVE;

Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor. ILLUS: LK 10-The Good Samaritan.

As Jars of Clay we are molded us to demonstrate His POWER to the world around us. And there is no greater power than LOVE.

Are you ANCHORED?

That’s not all. WE are…

8-9 – ANCHORED IN HIS PROTECTION

This “Ministry” we have is not easy, but God is Faithful.

How faithful is HE?

God is so Faithful, that when we are PRESSED for the gospel’s sake, we are not crushed…because He SHELTERS US.

God is so Faithful, that when we are PERSECUTED for the gospels’ sake, we are not abandoned...because HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US.

God is so Faithful, that when we are STRUCK DOWN, we are not destroyed…because HE PROTECTS US.

That’s why I say My Soul Is Anchored…In the Lord!
