Prayer Applications from Lamentations 2

(1) Believe in your heart the truth about the LORD (v. 1-10)

Do you ever find yourself wishing that some of God’s laws were different than they are? If so, does such a wish reflect a dislike for some aspect of God’s moral character? What passages of Scripture might you read to convince yourself more fully that God’s character and his laws are right in these areas?

Speak truth about the Lord to your soul and to your God.

(2) Hear honest counsel about yourself/your situation before the LORD (v. 11-19)

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Incorporate the word of God into your prayer.

(3) Express your heart to the LORD (v. 20-22)
