Nations are always in the picture
Nations are always in the picture
Psalm 47:1, “Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
The command of the Lord is also to the nations. Just like repentance. But not everyone in the nations listens to and obeys the commands of repentance and obedience.
Clap your hands, “all peoples”. God has always involved the peoples of the nations. The issue is that since the time that sin first entered the world, the experience and the responsibility for humanity to worship God was lost, unless restored through God’s way to reconcile the world.
“clap your hands all peoples”, but they won’t unless they are restored to God. This is seen in 1 Peter 3:18,
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”
Worship is mankinds’ rightful place.

Psalm 47:2-4, “For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared,
a great king over all the earth.
3 He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
4 He chose our heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah
5 God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
He is your victor. He, through Jesus, made it possible that for each person, in real time, that they can experience the victory of God. If God saves you today, from lies, from deceit, from the threats of the enemy, and causes you to know him and his truth, it means that this is being enacted through what Jesus has already done on the cross, and his identification with your humanity. He did the work already. He crushed the serpent, he is your heritage, if you believe, and this is glorious to be a part of and he also subdued nations, under your feet. These things are all accomplished through the work of Jesus Christ.
His work causes rejoicing - do it!
His work causes rejoicing - do it!
Psalm 47:6-9, “Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm![a]
8 God reigns over the nations;
God sits on his holy throne.
9 The princes of the peoples gather
as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
he is highly exalted!
Here we see that we can experience the rejoicing in the truth. Many people are happy about many things, but believers can rejoice in the truth. He is the king, and God is the one who is working in the world, and is the highest authority and King. When he works nothing can stop his work that the natural eye does not see.
1 Corinthians 2:14,
“The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.”
So, your job is to humble yourself, and get to know God, and be like those who through faith, endured by spiritual sight.
God bless
