Jesus appeals to the thirsty

Now on the last day of the feast—the great day—Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let him drink,
Why do you think Jesus waits till the last day of the feast?

The word “believes” in John 7:38 is translated in the ESV as “entrust” and “faith” elsewhere in the NT
In John 7:38, it speaks about believing in the Jesus of the Gospel, not an imitation.
John 7:38 NRSV
and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ ”
