Introduction: I receive an inconvenient text on an inconvenient day to do something my flesh rebels at.

I receive an inconvenient text from Shawn Holes, a street preacher from Idaho. This inconvenient text includes an inconvenient invitation to preach with him at Colorado State University at Fort Collins. I make quick arrangements with work and all the while I am asking myself if this is really God’s will. Surely tomorrow would be better.
Then, as Daniel purposed his heart, I purposed myself for the task at hand. There are lost souls at Colorado State University and I am being offered a chance to throw them a life line. What will I preach? I have gone street preaching, but not at the universities. That is a different type of open air preaching. Then it occurs to me, what is your assignment this week: Tell them what Christ means to YOU!

Christ to me is purpose

Gal 3.26 “26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Gal 4.7 “7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
John 15.11 “11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
Galatians 2:20 (KJV 1900)
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Rom 8.17 “17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
My identity is no longer trying to make sense of my place in this world, rather my identity is to make sense of my place in Christ. Hear me Christian, my identity is IN CHRIST not in the IN THE WORLD.

Christ Completes me
