Why is being a Christian so hard?

Intro:

Spider story. Funny and lighthearted.

In had a legit standoff with this spider, and the spider unfortunately won.. But he ended up getting what was his and dying. But honeslty, I made this situation WAY HARDER than it had to be.

Sometimes in life we start to think things are hard and a lot of times it’s because we have gotten away from the basics. We have allowed ourselves to make it something it isn’t.

Here is the question I want to tackle today. I am only going to answer one today because I believe it is a great, question, and I want to unpack this.

Why is it so hard to be a Christian?

This questions is an interesting one. Here is my answer. Are you ready? Why is it so hard to be a Christian? The answer is. It’s not. In fact, it’s actually quite simple. But unfortunately I think we sometimes add things to it that make it more difficult than it should be.

Truth:

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

Here is the reality. If you think Christianity is SO hard, you are probably the one making it hard. Because Jesus made it real simple. He said connect with me and i will work through you.

Listen guys. Just WANT Jesus. Learn about Him, talk to Him, Worship Him. I promise that will connect you to Him and he will work through you.

Does this mean you won’t have trials? nope. Does this mean things won’t get hard? nope. But life is going to be hard regardless. Jesus walks through life with you.

Every thing he has done he has done FOR US. TO LOVE US. DO NOT MISS OUT ON RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE OF RELIGION.

Everything I just mentioned is a GOOD THING and should be done. But just put Jesus first and those things come.

Imagine:

So if you ask the question why is Christianity so hard? Imagine if you asked the question. When is the last time I really connected with Jesus? When is the last time I really talked to Him?

Those are some good questions. Jesus makes it simple you should too. How do you know if you are connecting? Well are you producing good fruit?
