Mark 6:3-6 “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went about among the villages teaching.”
OPEN:
WHY DO WE HAVE SUCH A PROCLIVITY TO SUPRRESS OTHERS TO THE CAPACITY OF OURSELVES? SUPPRESS THE EXPRESSION OF DIVINITY.
WHY ARE YOU SO OFFENDED?
SALVATION IS OFFENSIVE.
WHY ARE WE INDICTED BY DIVINITY? WHY DO WE HAVE A PROCLIVITY TO BE OFFENDED BY SALVATION?
BECAUSE IT REVEALS THE IMMORTAL POTENTIAL THAT DEMANDS SUBMISSION TO JESUS AND MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO A RESPONSIBLE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.
HIS DIVINITY REVEALS MY POTENTIAL AND RESPONSIBILITY
CONCLUSION: TO REACH YOUR POTENTIAL IT IS GOING TO REQUIRE SUBMISSION TO JESUS AND A REAL LIFE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS!
