we refuse to practice cunning

2 Corinthians 4:2 ESV
2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.
This is such a stunning statement....It means two things to me.....if you just preach the truth....you have an ally in the unregenerate heart.
unregenerate means not reforming or showing repentance. obstinately wrong or bad in the eyes of God.....
What do I mean by that? Do you know what that means…It’s the law of God written in that heart....
And you will commend yourself to that unregenerate man....because the law of God is written in his heart and he has a conscious excusing or accusing him.
Have you ever been around someone that does know whether to love you or hate you because you live your faith.
And when you talk to them they say things to you like I don’t agree with what you believe but I admire your faith.
There is something about the truth....that rings true......my grandfather used to say that, “you know in your knower” that it is true......
You have an ally in the human heart....that’s the law of God written in the human heart. And you have an ally in the conscious.....
you have and even greater ally in the conscious of a believer.......
So we must live our faith out (in our walk) and know that you commend yourself to be believer as well as the non-believer....
The flip side of this equation is that you meet folks that get mad at you when they “experience” your faith walk.......
And the more you walk in faith in the good times and the bad.....the madder they get........
You know you are having an impact on those folks or they would not get so mad.
Think about it.......if they truly honestly did not care about the example of your faith walk.....they would not waist the energy to get angry with you......
