Start talking about something and something interrupts me.
What thoughts run through your mind when you are interrupted?
Interrupted = broken in upon
There are moments in time when interruptions are necessary.
Emergencies
To point out danger
Important news
As a people, I believe we truly dislike when our plans are interrupted.
And yet, God is the Great Interrupter.
READ Exodus 3:1-10
Background
Joseph, new Egyptians that did not know (1:8).
Moses, Hebrew spared, prince, murderer, runaway.
1st 40 years - Prince in a palace.
2nd 40 years - Tried to saved Israel, failed murderer
3rd 40 years - ?
I have no doubt that Moses felt anxiety about the past. Would you?
We can learn from the excuses that Moses made...
Who am I to do your will? (3:11)
God’s Response: It’s not about you. I’ll be there...
We usually question ourselves...
2. Who are you? (3:13)
God’s Response: I am the creator. (Yahweh)
He is not a god. He is THE God.
3. What is people don’t believe? (4:1)
God’s response: Pick up that stick.
God can prove Himself through anything.
4. What is I say/do the wrong thing? (4:10)
God’s response: I gave you your mouth.
God isn’t hindered by your weaknesses.
5. Please don’t make me do this. (4:13)
God’s response: I can do this all day.
God loves us enough to call us out whenever we make excuses.
Why is God willing to interrupt our lives?
God has a plan that is better.
We must prepare to be interrupted.
