Welcome / Intro
Devotional Idea Process
Beautiful area contrasted with the homeless topic of many conversations
Specifically the mess of garbage, trash, etc.
Homeless population increasing in Indy
Matthew 7:3 NIV
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
Caused me to think about how we normalize our environment
Further equated this messiness both literally and figuratively to our struggle with sin
We all have the messiness of sin in our lives it is easy to look past it and be comfortable with it
This place is so beautiful, yet it has this problem that doesn’t seem solvable.
Just like my sin.
Once I get over myself and MY PERSPECTIVE of this place and equate it to how I think God must see me.
Reminds me of the Garden of Eden
Summarize story
Genesis 3:8–10 NLT
8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”
Where are you?
God loves us so much he asks where are you? Not what did you do?
Where are you I want to show you what I did for you. So you could be with me forever.
Away from the messiness.
