Scripture Reading

Philippians 4:2–6 NKJV
I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Introduction

Jesus said:
Matthew 6:25 NKJV
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:26 NKJV
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:27 NKJV
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
Matthew 6:28 NKJV
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:30 NKJV
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Matthew 6:31 NKJV
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
Matthew 6:32 NKJV
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Do not be anxious!
I’m anxious for nothing because:

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
Psalm 23:3 NKJV
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Psalm 23:5 NKJV
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Psalm 23:6 NKJV
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Sinful Contentment
Do not have sinful contentment
Genesis 37:27 NKJV
Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh.” And his brothers listened.
Joseph’s brothers wanted contentment for their jealousy
Mark 15:15 NKJV
So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified.
Pilate wanted to bring contentment to the crowd
Godly contentment
1 Timothy 6:6 NKJV
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
Hebrews 13:5 NKJV
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Three Ways of Dealing With Anxiety

Break Down
