I am not patient, while we were playing the games I did not have the self control to wait to eat chocolate I ate some while we were playing the games.
I use to think I was patient until I got a puppy. We wanted a puppy for almost a year and we waited and waited until we finally got him. We have a dog Charlie and I thought he was gonna learn from Charlie, but he didn’t he became a monster. Pippin is a 3 month old Mini Aussie, and he is so hyper and wants to tear everything up. I end up yelling at him and losing my temper because I am not patient enough to properly train him I get home from work and I am tired and have homework or projects around the house to do so I don't have time to always be watching him. When I am not watching him he is eating our socks, or Charlie or the furniture, his favorite snack is Charlie.
How many of us think we are patient? If so how are you patient?

Look

James 5:7–11 (ESV)
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
What stand out to you in this passage?
Wait Five minutes
One of the greatest attributes to a persons faith is their patience. Being patient in just everyday life, is a huge witness to our testimony as believers. When something does not go your way it is easy to get upset and mad about it but instead we need to be patient and accept it. When something goes wrong its easy to get mad and snap at someone.
I get mad at Pippin all the time, he will start biting my ankles and attacking me so we smack him and tell him no! sometimes though when he is starting to be really annoying I will yell at him and then he goes running away to his mom pouting. Then I feel guilty because I let my anger and impatience get the best of me. He is 4 months old Sunday and sometimes I don’t have patience for even a puppy.
Job is used in this passage as an example for patience and steadfastness. He goes through trial after trial and his life is miserable. Most Christians would not be able to persevere through what he is going through. But he knows God is good and through all the trials he is suffering through he waits patiently for God. He did not know he was going to be rewarded in his life on earth but he knew that he would be in the next life so he waited patiently for his reward in heaven. that should be enough for believers to be patient in this life. Knowing that we have something greater in the next life should make waiting in Starbucks line a little easier next time.
How can you be more like Job?

With being patient and slow to anger it allows us to be a witness to those around us. We face trials everyday whether it is a small trial that aggravates us or huge trials that drastically change our lives. or if we are being impatient while in line, or anything that slightly hinders us let us be a witness due to our patience and kindness toward others.
