Blessed are the poor in Spirit Part II

The Spiritually Poor Church:

Revelation 3:14–22 NKJV
14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”

A Few words about “the church” before we get started.

A Church is made up of People.

People are imperfect (all people).

This means you too.

If in your life at the Rock you haven’t messed up, it just means you haven’t messed up yet. I want to ask you a question, when you do mess up, how do you want to be treated?

Galatians 6:1 NKJV
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

We will all need restoration. We need to remember that in THIS Church!

What does it say:

Revelation 3:14 NKJV
14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
what is being said is said by the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 3:15 NKJV

Revelation 3:18 NKJV

Revelation 3:20 NKJV

Revelation 3:21 NKJV
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
a reward is coming.
Revelation 3:22
Revelation 3:22 NKJV
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”
we have to tune our ears to what the spirit says.

What does it mean?

Jesus is not talking to a lost world he is talking to a complacent Church.
The Church is:
poor
naked
blind
broke
Jesus counsels them come to me!
Jesus then says rebuke and chastening is an act of love not hate. Parents that don’t correct Children don’t love them, they actually hate them because they leave them to be corrected by a world that doesn’t love them or believe in God’s plan and purpose for them.
while we believe in excepting people where they are we love them to much to leave them where they are!

what do we do with it?

fellowship with the Lord!
be clothed in his grace and humility.
Grace for my own sins.
humility toward others.
have our eyes anointed so we can see rightly.
Let us get wisdom from the Lord.
receive correction from those who are appointed to bring correction.
Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
fellowship with Jesus!
