Where is your heart? (Show me the money)
the heart is deceitful, so we have to go with hard facts
what you love
greed, selfishness
don’t try to hold back, but have a generous heart
cheerful giving
A faith matter
God trust you?
Do you trust God?
Will God take care of me
there is a blessing in giving
25 The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered.
Tithing Worksheet
Why gross? Because that’s how much money you made. Look at the top of your check, that’s how much money you made.
of course the bottom will tell you how much you get after Fed Tax, SS tax, Medicare tax, insurance, so forth
but all of that was made possible by the gross amount.
the government just doesn’t trust you like God does, so they just take it before you get it
an offering is extra giving beyond that - in the OT they had to give extra at certain times of the year: festivals, celebrations, and also on special occasions (birth of a child, being healed)
Gross: $100 Check: $93.67 Tithe: $10 Offering: $2? Total given: $12
so in the truest since, if you made $100, but your check said $ 93.67and you said, “I am going to give my tithe and a offering”, it might look like this: $10 tithes, $3 offering
