Biblical sketch 4 (Soteriological)

Sin (Problem)

It’s a time for hard questions. Why do good people die? why do faithful Christian people have to suffer the trauma of a terminal Disease? why do we have to grieve because we have lost a loved one or a very close friend? As a pastor I must admit these questions bring a certain amount of anger and pain, what makes it worst is that i don’t always have an answer. As a pastor I have to agree with Pastor Barry Black when when in his book The Blessing of Adversity “I feel brokenness like a nagging toothache.” I’ve witness brokenness; in one of my previous district as I stood in somerset looking at the body of first elder; was stabbed to death. I’ve witness as I raced to the Morant Bay Hospital with a member only to hear the doctor pronounce her dead because of a heart failure. I’ve witness brokeness as my good friend and elder suffered from a heart attack as I watched his wife and mother broke down it I was being rip apart on the inside. at the young age of fifteen I had to watch my mother die, she had cancer. I know what it feels like. “Grief has been compared to a physical illness. In the Old Testament, the prophet Isaiah admonishes to Bind up the broken hearted, giving the impression that severe grief can somehow damage the heart.”The Relevance of Christian Counseling Today. by Beverly Sterling-Cross.
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
Because the LORD has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners. Is 61:1.

18 The LORD ais near to the bbrokenhearted

And saves those who are 1ccrushed in spirit.

19 aMany are the bafflictions of the righteous,

But the LORD cdelivers him out of them all.

20 He keeps all his bones,

aNot one of them is broken.

these must have been the thoughts that were the Apostles mind at the time. John lived to be very old. He witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and the ruin of the stately temple. The last survivor of the disciples who had been intimately connected with the Saviour, his message had great influence in setting forth the fact that Jesus was the Messiah, the Redeemer of the world. No one could doubt his sincerity, and through his teachings many were led to turn from unbelief. Ellen Gould White, The Acts of the Apostles in the Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, vol. 4, Conflict of the Ages Series (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 1911), 569.
the death, the crime, violence, the diseases that exists in this world is as a result of one three letter word and you guest it, it is sin. “What does the future hold? Will terrorist bombs, chemical or biological warfare or natural disasters destroy the earth? Or is there hope for something better? Is it possible to know the future with certainty? The Book of Revelation brings hope to those who would know the future. With steadfast assurance, Jesus says, “I am coming soon!” (Revelation 22:20) Millions are discovering for themselves that precious hope in the popular Left Behind novel series based on earth’s last days. But these books are just novels. Is Jesus really going to come again? Or were these just the hopeful words of a deluded prophet? Is the hope for the return of Jesus just a panacea in the minds of those so disillusioned with life that they have no alternative? Can you trust God and the Bible as the voice of God? Yes you can”Jac Colón, Revelation Now (Jac Colón, 2013), 4.
In the Revelation 6:10-11 John hears the voices of the martyrs of Jesus crying out, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
it is sin that causes all the pain in this world. It was started by the devil but his time is coming the devil delights in our grief but his time is coming. how long Lord? not long

Justification (Solution)

Just hold on it won’t be long. you see God is working on a number, it is good Number; it is a strong number; God’s working on a number its a symbolic number that rightly represents spiritual Israel some call it the 144,000. that’s the number that John heard that were to be sealed. God’s working on a number; Spiritual Israel, 12,000 from Judah, i said God is working on a Number; from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000, 6from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000, 7from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000, 8from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000 sealed. Stefanovic, Ranko. Revelation of Jesus Christ: Commentary on the Book of Revelation . Andrews University Press. Kindle Edition. But God is still working on a Number; its a good number, it’s a strong number it’s a number that no man can number; it’s a great multitude. How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” how long? not long. I making up a number that no man can number. in the mean time some of us have to rest a while. A white robe was given to them, but they are dead they can’t receive it. it’s not the temporal type. you see Jesus is our robe of righteousness. over two thousand years ago Christ came to this earth contaminated with sin. He was on mission to seek and to save that which was lost. it was mission impossible but He did it. Jesus became our robe of righteous
10 I will rejoice greatly in the LORD,
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations. Is 61:10–11.
Two thousand years ago Christ died for you and I, He took our place and gave us His place. He took our filthy Garments and gave His robe of righteousness. isn’t that just like God? He promised them a white robe but they must rest now, Re 6:10-11. how long? not long

Sanctification (Transformation)

As the end draws near, God’s faithful remnant must proclaim the final gospel message to the world. After that, they must pass through the final events of this world’s history, referred to as “the great tribulation.” During that time of crisis, they will need the special protection of the Holy Spirit. It is then that they will experience the fulfillment of Christ’s promise given to the Philadelphians: “Because you have kept the word of my endurance, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is about to come on those who dwell on the earth” (Rev. 3:10). Just as all Israelites having the doors of their house marked with the blood of the paschal lamb were protected from the Exodus plagues (Exod. 12:21–23), and as the marked faithful in Ezekiel’s vision were protected during the judgment befalling Jerusalem (9:1–11), so the Holy Spirit will provide a special protection for Christians in the eschatological hour of trial.
