The “Be” Attitudes of Humility

1.    Be reverent toward God and that which is holy. (Jos. 5:14,15)

2.    Be willing to die to self and live for God’s glory. (Matt 26:38,39)

3.    Be totally honest and forthright in acknowledging and confessing your sin (1 John 1:8,9)

4.    Be content with your lot in life knowing that Jesus was God in the flesh and most likely settled for less than you have now, knowing that his earthly possessions had no bearing on His heavenly inheritance. (Matt. 8:20)

5.    Be controlled in your speech, knowing that we will give an account for every loose word that we speak. (Matt 12:36)

6.    Be willing to accept and even embrace our suffering, knowing that it was on the cross that Jesus performed His greatest act of love for us. (1 Peter 4:1)

7.    Be modest in our appearance knowing that even Christ in His humanity was not easily distinguished from other men. (Isa.5:8)
